I really have to emphasize the fact that SE has no motivation to change things unless people stop renting retainers...
Does it suck? Yes. I contemplate quitting the game on a regular basis because I do not have enough space to save armors and my number one motivation for playing an mmo is to grind up and collect all the different armor appearances. But money is the only language SE speaks. Until people stop renting retainers, they are going to continue sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming, "Lalalala!" at us.I've finally hit my limit. :/ Been playing since alphas and betas and the inventory problem has been a struggle for a long time. I want to have fun and enjoy them game, but left and right I'm having to stop and pick and choose between which items I need the least that I can get rid of so I can get by for one more day. ._. I warned them in the alpha/beta tester forums then and they didn't care, as of this point and their responses...they have shown me that they haven't changed how they think of it.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. 5 days until my membership ends and I've decided to not re-sub for the time being. I've got more important things I can throw money at than a pay to play game that nickle and dimes it's player base for problems that should have been fixed years ago, not temporarily and conveniently (profitably) averted. Even most of the F2P games I've played haven't milked inventory space this hard and at least their excuse is that they need money to keep the game running, for FFXIV the reason I pay the sub is so I don't have to deal with silly nonsense like "renting" inventory space. :/ Take care all~ Be safe and may inventory space be with you!
*Goes back to ghost lurking until sub. ends. /ninja*
Fine, if that is how it is going to be, and if that is all they care about, ill boycott them completely, byebye. I wont be buying anything SE related till they change things.
If nothing is done till 5.0 I will be saying goodbye too. Collecting glamour is one of the points why I play this game and if they change nothing I wont be able to collect anything at all in the next expansion..

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Crafting Item Inventory (a la GW2) -> Currency Wallet -> Glamour Log -> Expansion to weapon armoury chest would be the best for me (Certain jobs can share armour at least, but weapons/tools will always be the biggest problem, especially since I'd like to hold onto stuff for leveling)
As someone with every job at 60+, at least 6 at 70, I honestly don't see how people can't figure out inventory management. There's TONS of free space. Hoarding items for no good reason is stupid. If I ever find myself in a situation where I am running low on space, a few GC turn ins , or an AH liquidation always corrects the issue and I walk away richer.
Are people seriously threatening to unsub over inventory space?
I understand that it's not ideal, but unsubbing seems incredibly petty.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
God, how I miss the Crafting item inventory, Glamour Log and Currency Tab from GW2 :/Crafting Item Inventory (a la GW2) -> Currency Wallet -> Glamour Log -> Expansion to weapon armoury chest would be the best for me (Certain jobs can share armour at least, but weapons/tools will always be the biggest problem, especially since I'd like to hold onto stuff for leveling)
Petty? No other MMO has this issue with this level of severity. Why shouldn't SE be held accountable for being unable/unwilling to correct a problem that has been solved countless times by countless other companies?
