Assuming this isn't a troll post, you've got this completely wrong. Embrace is not meant to emulate cure or benefic. It's meant to emulate regen and Diurnal A. Benefic.
Well I got some better gear for my SCH class and managed to keep my team alive through ex roullete dungeons. I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable in ex trials or raids as that class (or any healer) though. I'd rather be Tank or DPS.
Embrace only lost 50 potency, which I suppose that might be a lot, but when you can spam embrace and never really need to move out of cleric stance and DPS, that's an [balance] issue. Personally, I use Selene because raid DPS > personal DPS; the 3% buff is the exact same as her old 30% buff thanks to stat re-balancing. I only ever bring out Eos when I know I will need the extra healing to augment my own. As it is, my physick heals for the same as a cure; with my fairy, it brings it up to about the same as a cure II at the same [MP and time] cost. Scholar has never wanted for healing, even now; people just want to leave all of the healing to the fairy and do their own thing.
All SE ever did was remove the gimmick that the fairy is the healer and the player is the utility. Now the player is the healer and the fairy is the utility.
I'd recommend using both depending on what you need. A good SCH will use both in one run. I use fairy CDs when I need them then send her away.
I have never been the type of player to keep my fairy out all the time. I use Dissipation for extra Aetherflow stacks and 20% healing magic potency.

You still get bonus points for actually putting the time an effort to really try the role.
You may prefer the styles of the other two healers more, though, but if anything, you have the job if you need to hop into content as a healer!
Fairy healing is there to supplement Scholar healing, not match it or surpass it. Fairies heal more than Chocobo's do.
With practice, SCH is worth their weight. I'm healing in Ex death savage and it's solid, more powerful in certain mechanics than WHM and AST.
