Let's talk about Hunts - a detailed rundown of their assumed mechanics

Actually, reading the hint more carefully it says: "the tiny shrimp gather to feed on the husks of shellfish, and when the seas teem with their numbers, that is when Okina appears, riding on the spring tide".

"Tiny shrimp gather to feed on the husks of shellfish" actually would make sense with the theory of having to kill shellfish like yumemi so "the seas teem with their numbers" (namely, shrimp gathering on the shells of the dead shellfish) and would explain why some people claim to have spawned Okina after killing a Yumemi/Naked Yumemi.

Still, trying right now but no luck yet. Could be that new moon does not work or could be a number of other stuff, one of them being bad luck.

I don't know. With Udumbara we already have one hunt to kill monster for (If it's true tho).

But still, with Okina now proving to be false that it's only trigger is full moon we have now 3 hunts we're not 100% sure on how to spawn them.

Orghana in Azim: Some people say this, some say that. Feels more like even Orghana doesn't know when and how to spawn.

Udumbara in The Fringes: It's somehow related to killing monster, but we're not 100% sure which and how many. Could even be always a ridiculous coincidence that someone did some gathering at that time (unlikely tho).

And now Okina in Ruby Sea.

I'd also like to point out that while I spawned all 3 Bone Crawler yesterday on my server, his spawns were never even close to the route I took (all 3 on different, but known A/B spawns) and he always spawned exactly when I was halfway through.

Yeah, but I dunno. Also I tried fishing too anyway. This would make a second killing-based spawn but this one actually has a second condition of moon phase so it wouldn't be exactly the same. Not saying that can't be related to fishing, it is a very likely possibility too (and if it has to do with level 70 fishing I can't do anything cause I'm level 63), but pairing the hint with some spawns would make a lot of sense that is related to killing mobs with shells.

Anyway, please if any server has a new moon pop of Okina, report it.

Edit: new moon gone. Seems safe to asume that Okina only spawns during full moon regardless of the second condition. We can probably expect a force spawn in about 13 hours 40 minuites if secondary condition was met at least once.

Which would mean full moon isn't the only option.

That's what I gather. On top it NOT requiring to be daytime only (shown in Ohmdevilz screenshots). Just close to 12 AM/PM; which are times in the day with the highest tides?

On Carbuncle, we kill leshy and sapria, and that made Udumbara (which for some reason is called Udonge in JP) pop. Could be any plant-type monster? Mossling, diakka, leshy, sapria.

This has been mentioned more than once, so maybe it IS a Leucrotta spawn

We don't have a hunt with monsters to kill - Orghana is: kill the FATE and then fly over the spawn points for the spawn. Has been confirmed many times by now. So Udumbara being something like Leucrotta is resonable.

Also: The german hint is talking about crayfish for Okani ... nothing about clams or so, or even yumenis, why they work is still a mystery to me since nothing in the german hint fits to them and the localisation team to be misleading about it in a hint would be harsh. I still believe it's lobster and crabs - that's what we gathered a ton of at our first multiple spawn in all instances back then. I think even for the second spawn there were still people getting them because of the tiny tatsunoko at the kobayashi maru where you can get lobsters at the node - or even the snow crabs for aetherical reduction to get aethersand.
I could be wrong - very wrong .. but that's what fits the most for me.

We also always had full moon spawns as far as I know - if we can get a new moon spawn .. that would be sweet.

Also: Our first Okina spawn was at 12p.m.

I think this secondary requirement on Okina is a stretch it's more likely it just has a reduced chance to pop early in its timer, if it pops in every instance on every server at this full moon again that would probably debunk the secondary requirement completely.

I fail to understand this, but isn't Leucrotta literally monster killing which would mean if Udumbara is indeed the same it is also literally monster killing?

I would agree with if it wasn't the case that at the beginning of the expansion Okina spawned in every instance on every server at the same time, but now that there is a lot less activity in the Ruby Sea, it only popped for some instances in some servers. Unless they changed something on a maint, I think it is indeed very likely to have a second condition.

My bad, I meant that besides Leucrotta we don't have one of that sort yet - so Udumbara being something like Leucrota would be reasonable.
