Steam payment HUGE price increase!

A funny note for whoever was thinking that the BR and RU player base was far too small to make any kind of difference...

...Overnight, the lifetime user review score for FFXIV on steam dropped from 85% to 83%. Might not seem like much at first, but take into account that:
- This is for lifetime reviews, from 2014 up until now.
- All of these reviews are actual players who bought the game (you have to be one to be able to post a review)
- A good chunk of the reviews are from players with hundreds or even thousands of hours of play, so basically veterans
- This all happened overnight, in less than 12 hours, and the score keeps going down.

As for their "Recent" score (last 30 days), it has dropped to 56% and keeps lowering. Keep in mind that this time slice includes the bulk of the highly-rated Stormblood (88 on Metacritic).

Even considering that this is "just" the Steam portion of the PC players, this is no negligible thing, specially considering it happened in such a short notice.

Is this 280 a week? Because at the minimum wage in the USA, people bring home less than that after taxes. Quite a bit less.
I'm disabled after working for many many years and I get about 120 USD less than you in a month. Just because some of us live in "rich countries" doesn't mean that we are all rich. Also almost 2/3 of my monthly income go to my rent electricity and heat/cooling.
What Squeenix just pulled on you guys is wrong, but comparing yourselves to "rich countries" has nothing to do with your problem.

If you bought the game two days ago you should be able to get a refund. I believe the return policy allows you 30 days to return. So stop playing and return it now and you will be able to get your money back.

A lot of people in Brazil don't have air conditioning or reliable access to electricity or running water in their homes, so that lowers the price of utilities considerably.

The people who play the game are probably upper or middle class metropolitan residents. But like a high-end income for them would be like $800-600 monthly.

Twist this any way you like, it is really bad business practice from financial, with just bad ethical accounting practices in the way it has been done.

The breaking of their own ToS is mind-blowing. Loss of Reputation, loss of human capital and for what? An Excel presentation about projected short-therm gains? Did management even see this change and approach on their desk?

Ethical business vs maximizing profit; unethical companies are focused on short-term gains in any way, shape or form possible, not caring about (their) people at all, just profit. Textbook stuff really, these short-term profit goals are dwarfed by their longer-term losses.

All in all unbelievable from the FF company, who ever hired this greed monger should be called to Yoshida for a lesson about good business practices! You are hurting SE very badly!

i liked the game(thats why i cant request a refund on steam :> 20 hours in 2 days) but this attitude towards consumers... meh

This peoblem comes from the administration office/department. The big business men and investors are the ones who have the final decisions.
