If they intend on giving us the XI wyverns I will reverse my opinion now. So yes to NEW not goofy looking flying beaversaurs but REAL Wyverns or a baby Dragon!

If we're going to get wyverns...make sure they're big, intimidating, and mountable as an aerial combatant. And they should not take away ANY stats whatsoever from the player dragoon's stats. I want the wyvern to be considered an "add-on" that can be disabled in PvP combat environments.
And when I say Big, I mean big enough to knock over a conga line of chocobos with a sneeze...
And when I say intimidating, I mean they should cause the City Guards to wet their pants with one glare...
And when I say mountable/aerial combatant, I mean they should be rideable by Dragoon, and they should be powerful in mid-air combat. (Garuda, I'm looking at you~)
Basically, I am not against the idea of a Kain/Freya Dragoon having the option to have a strong wyvern at their side that does NOT cause problems with balance.
Here is a list of requisites:
- The Dragoon should be able to fight on their own on equal footing against other classes and PvE enemies without the wyvern.
- The Wyvern should be restricted in PvP (aka, not summonable)
- The Wyvern's main purpose would be the mount to the Dragoon as mounted cavalry.
- The Wyvern is capable of fighting on its own, but not capable of winning ANYTHING on its own. Period. The Wyvern should be used primarily as a PvE/Lore device, not an actual combat pet class. (That role is reserved for Summoner and Beastmaster, folks.)
Better yet, the Wyvern could be rewarded as an achievement for the player having completed all Dragoon-related quests, that way, it becomes more of an optional function than an absolute necessity.

And when I say mountable/aerial combatant, I mean they should be a very powerful companion in wind-based combat and that the Dragoon should be able to ride them. (Garuda, I'm looking at you~)That's what SE really needs to do with these wyverns!!! No little rat (<3 firewing) in this one please. We need intimidating and scary looking wyverns here!
What we need is some concept art of these things so I know what to vote for...or make them change it. Here's requesting some concept art for wyverns Yoshi.

I would love that to... The Wyverns need to be about the size of the dragons that where demonstrated in the Live Letter. If we're going to get wyverns...make sure they're big, intimidating, and mountable as an aerial combatant. As for flying.. I can't see that that make alot more stuff placed on the DRG then other classes and as for having the Wyvern be SO big then I feel the the character should have a small decrease in power so it don't be overpowered. Now if the wyvern was small like in FFXI then I would love to see you keep you full strength and have the wyvern as a add on. I am just thinking as a balance effect here now.
