No more Road to 60 Buff? (Zalera)

Yeah this is so disappointing, I had been taking my time with the levelling of my main class to do some crafting and other such jobs since the buff is called "Road to 60" you'd think it'd take you all the way to 60....only made it to 30 on my Marauder and I was really keen to try a couple of other classes before settling but now I just don't think I'll be bothered to do that.

So just when I got the classes I want to level to 50 and when the buff really would help since it's annoying grind....sigh, I guess I need to pick just one since at least the story mode gives decent xp.

I just made a new character on a dif server. Honestly it took me a solid 3-4 days to get to 20 when I first played, exploring getting to know the game included of course... But with the buff and now I know the game it takes only 4 hours or so. Here's hoping they don't move the preferred servers randomly again in the middle of the night though or else I quit.

Honestly what they should have done was make it so the buff lasted 90 days from the character creation, since they character is already locked on the server for the length of time do not see the harm in letting a player retain the buff for that set amount of time. While foolish I was one of those players that thought they would retain the buff even after the server switched from preferred to standard, which was silly of me to begin with.

End of the day it is 100% on me for not making full use of the buff, and I am simply upset that the friends I got to try this game stopped playing due to leveling speed. While anecdotal I do wonder how many people found themselves in a similar situation. On the bright side since my friends left I am free to create another character on the new preferred servers.

Yeah this whole thing is sketchy and it sucks. My friends and I created characters ONLY for this buff and the free 2 weeks for hitting 30. To take this away without warning is really unfair. I reached 60 on 2 classes, but my friends weren't fortunate enough to have the time I did to do the same. I put in a ticket, but I doubt I will get anything but a cookie cutter response. I really hope Square does the right thing here.

It took you no less brainpower than a hamster to turn it's wheel to come up with this solution. The whole thing seems so disingenuous that it has made me not even want to play now I know the sort of company I'm dealing with.

I also don't think it's silly to expect transparency. They could have easily communicated when the buff would end but they didn't. There are people who created chars the night before who woke up to not having the buff they were promised.

There was nothing random about it, but yes they will do exactly the same thing again - no reason to believe otherwise.

Why do I say it wasn't random? Very simple: The preferred servers are the ones they want people to move to, due to those servers having low population. Once enough people have moved there, the server is no longer under-populated and thus there is no longer any need for having it as a preferred server. At that point some other server(s) which is now considered low-population is labeled as preferred.
If it looks random, it is only because we do not have direct access to the server population numbers.

Is it nice to players changing server status like this with no notice? No, but being nice was never the purpose of labeling them as congested/preferred. Spreading out the population more evenly was, and it seems to have been fairly succesful in that.

You are missing the point here. You have been for the beginning so do not bother at this point.

Unfortunately, there is no good way they could have done it alternatively. It was intended to be an enticement to get people to start on particular servers, not an ongoing reward that would give people a long(er) term advantage.
