Sorry, I think I see what you are saying now.The skill is an aoe, but not the heal. it Restores the HP of all nearby party members who have a confession.
The radius is just how far away people can be when you cast it. The wording is confusing, but it's clear once you start using it that ain't no one gettin' healed but the dudes with confessions. It woulda been much cooler if it was also a triggered AoE heal, but there's a lot of things about the skill that could've been a lot cooler.
That the proc of PI is functioning as an aoe activating the Confessions and the Confessions/heal is not aoe, right?
Isn't it a little weird for the back end wording like that to be in the tooltip, then?
Yea the skill still is not great. 10 sec is way to short, healed everyone up and then it falls off already. Feels a bit useless to me.
Wouldve liked it better if it had stayed on cure or cure 2, mabe even added cure 3. Made confessions with a 45 duration or longer and made an aoe healing bomb, could also be used on yourself.
I think this was a great change to Plenary Indulgence, but I sincerely believe they weighted it down too heavily to make sure the change didn't make it overpowered.
They're bound to make further adjustments down the line 2 weeks from now. One I hope they will do is increase Confession duration so that charging up confessions ends up being more of a choice/calculated decision rather than something made spur-of-the-moment in a very gated span of time.
To me, this is kind of like lillies, but for AoE healing magic, and I'm rather cheered by the concept. But severely gating the skill both with recast and extremely short confession duration is kind of overkill. This is the level 70 capstone; it can be allowed to be powerful. As people said earlier in this thread and the 4.0 feedback consolidation, the current implementation is either weak when you actually need it, or unneccessary overheal by the time you build towards it. That's why I'm convinced that empowering more choice in the matter, allowing us to choose to use it early or take the time to build it up to harness its full power - is what will make Plenary Indulgence an asset to both healers and the parties they support.
It is a bit awkwardly worded, I don't think anyone will really argue there.
I don't know how many people have gotten to experience the skill yet, but I actually really liked it. It was fantastic in the Omega fights where there's lots of movement and AOE damage, or just situations like Alta Roite's Charybdis attack. It also saw WAY more use since I knew exactly when people were getting confessions.
I do think the confession duration could have been left at 30 seconds (or really even just 15-20) since the skill is only usable every 60 seconds anyway. And I still think they need to work out the fact that it's on the buff bar -- I had a couple dual-white mage groups and it still got confusing if they were my Confessions or not.

With the cooldown at 60s now couldn't we just not have a timer on Confessions? It is a bit awkwardly worded, I don't think anyone will really argue there.

I would be okay with a 90s cooldown if Confessions had no timer. (Please don't do this SE.)

Personally I think the buff and nerf to PI had no impact with the way I will be playing WHM. At best all PI will do is overheal targets that are either at or near 100% HP, something that Medica II's HoT already does. I wouldn't mind it if PI was a trait instead of an actual ability. After the 10 seconds it would heal the target for the amount of stacks automatically. Would this still cause overhealing, more than likely but I believe it would be better then what we have now or quite frankly remove PI completely.
So instead of PI being our level 70 ability I would have liked to have seen a party wide Divine Benison. Something that has a fairly long cooldown (120 seconds or so) and a lower potency (10%) just to keep things balanced and to ensure it wouldn't be overused. However these changes would never happen, just wishful thinking on my part.

This is one for the record books. I completely agree with you on something
Only managed a few hours in Savage so far, O1S and O2S down, about halfway through O3S.
O2S is absolute WHM heaven, I've can almost guarantee 3 lilies everytime for Assize, I'm getting really solid value out of PI as well. Don't think of it as a heal in it's own right, but rather an amped up burst of aoe HPS once a minute, it's an excellent response to the burst AST gained with Earthly Star. Even Benison sees real value with the tank switch.
