How hard a class plays should never be balance on how much dps you do. It is about if you enjoy how the class plays or not. Devs clearly said tougher means more dps is not the way they want to do things.
Barrel Stabilizer change would be meaningful if overheat on wildfire actually amounted to anything. Overheated wildfires breaks pretty even with a rotation that doesn't overheat at all. They needed to at least buff overheat to 20%.
I think what's more hilarious is that Quick Reload is now a net nerf from Heavensward.
Quick Reload was clearly problematic.
3% more Hotshot DPS increase Vs decreased CD usage and dumbed down rotation. (i feel like they overdid it)
Not what i expected from "and more".
My test/quick run with random DF group Delta V1.0 without Dex Pots and Food at 3600 DPS. Not bad, but it's not on Bard level (3900).

Even though my MCH is only lv66, even I was questioning the reduced heat on the 1-2-3. Keeping the gauge between 50 and 100 was fun for me and easy to maintain for non WF times. With this change though, I am not sure anymore.
And as a result, BLM, SMN, and now seemingly even MCH is now dead in the water. No one wants to put in extra effort without an equal reward, and the harder to play classes are clearly sub-par to their more simplistic counterparts in BRD/RDM.
No one wins with a mindset like that. Hell, for the first time since 3.0 I'm seriously considering leaving my main MCH behind! I don't even know what job to main now.

Not sure about dps increase or numbers as I am on console and can't parse, but the heat reduction feels better to me. It is much harder to accidentally overheat now, and staying in the 50>95 sweet spot is easier. 60 sec BS is also great. Making sure it is always available when you need it.
As a MCH main, i won't say "no" to these changes. It's some small QoL changes. But from testing, they barely make any DPS increase. Is SE seriously saying this DPS is where they want MCH to be?
SE, if all we're doing is QoL changes for MCH, I have two more:
1) When Gauss Barrel overheats, just disable the function. Don't unequip it. Function should automatically return with the barrel cools down
2) When we overload Rook and Bishop, don't despawn the turrets. Leave them as is an just disable their function. You can add a little "malfunction" animation, with a bit of smoke, so let us know visually it's out of commission. But don't make us have to summon and re-position the turret again. When the turret is repaired, just let it automatically resume function.

Right there with you. I wish we did more damage, but it's not going to keep me from getting content done. I didn't enjoy micro-managing my heat. To me, the changes to heat generation/overheating are very welcome. Not sure about dps increase or numbers as I am on console and can't parse, but the heat reduction feels better to me. I think this is the best MCH has ever played.
My only wishes at this point is for a little more damage. At least at or above BRD.
