    48x72" poster

For those crafty with resolutions, photography, and things like that, I'm trying to get a 48"x72" print, what resolution would I need in the game for it to not be grainy at that size? I did one at 1920x1200 but it's a bit gritty when I open it up and view at 100%.

Here's what I have at the moment:

This will help you out. Not sure if you will be able to get the game resolution where you really need it or not. Also might help if you do not use the built in Screen Print tool to take the snap... It might auto limit you, but I am not sure.

    Resolution/Megapixel Calculator: http://web.forret.com/tools/megapixe...00&height=1200

It will tell you the screen print sizes at various dpi for various resolutions so that you can see what you can get too...

I'm using fraps to screen capture in bitmap. The max resolution game will let you set is 2560x2048, I'm going to try and set it higher manually and max out the graphics, but I'm not sure what resolution the graphics are stored at. Like ffxi let you display the background resolution at a max of 512x512, but you could override that to a much higher res and have it look amazing. But I've gotta have a huge resolution to get to 4'x6' and not appear grainy.

As a rough estimation, you need to divide the resolution of the picture you took by the dpi of the print.
Fotos in a magazine for example are usually printed in 300 dpi, so a 1920x1200 res gets you a 6,4"x4" print. Not quite poster format, right, but Posters usually aren't printed at 300dpi.
JPGs are printed in 75 dpi by default, that's a 25,6"x16" print, doesn't look as sharp though. You could try to improve the quality with a photo software.

the above should not be taken seriously under any circumstances.
