I blame the knee jerk reaction from forums OUTSIDE of this one. You know the ones. All these people who believe they're in the top tenth of 1% and raging about this and that gets people all riled up, and then they come here to dump the salt.

Poor devs. I would not want to be in their place reading such conflicting (and oftentimes rude) comments

What about the 95%+ chance of HQ, but get failure? It's happened to me, and probably lots of others...then get a sub 10% to HQ and get HQ.

Had that quite a few times when doing the Ixal beast tribe stuff. Still do every now and then since I try and do them on a lower leveled crafter even though I could do them on my CUL(60, almost 61).

Also, one thing is SE reads the official forums. They don't read Reddit.

Nobody should read Reddit, or any outside forum (eg 4chan, something awful, tumblr) if they are the developer, artist, or programmer for a game, film or comic for the content they create, it is soul-destroying. Once a certain attitude permeates a forum, you either embrace it, or get the banhammer. Hence why so many gaming sites, and gaming sections of broader forums turn into toxic cesspools.

Hell, even political forums, which by it's very nature are flamebait, often have a "one of us, or you are the enemy" kind of attitude. No dissenting opinions. If you say something other than the political meta, you get shouted down and downvoted out of existence, if not banned.

On Square-Enix's own forums, you express negative sentiment about the company and it's employees at your own peril. The company and it's staff are not singling out players to be banned, they are singling out behaviors that if left unchecked, will become quiet approval. Hence arguments about game meta's, unauthorized third party utilities, RMT and bots shouldn't even happen. They should end with "this is not conductive to fostering a positive environment."
