Maybe it's because I didnt touch sch at all in HW, but after getting it to 70 and farming Susano for a while sch seems fine. There are some minor gripes like fey union taking forever to work, but overall I'm liking sch quite a bit.

As a person who played, and raided as SCH since 2.0, the experience is that everything that made the job good, fun, and gave it an interesting niche was nerfed.

MP sustain- nerfed
Fairy- nerfed twice
AOE dps- nerfed into the ground so hard that WHMs and ASTs are better AOE dps now

The complaint at the moment isn't a question of SCH being unable to heal content. It's just the utter lack of identity/niche. Nocturnal sect AST steps on SCHs toes across the board in just about every meaningful category as a healer with the exception of OGCD healing.

SCH now has an identity crisis because SE spent literally years buffing AST since gordias savage, and nerfed everything SCH was known for in 4.0.
