Wild idea there but perhaps scrip gear should have a bonus if wearing the full set (tools included) when you are a specialist.

I just hit 70 with LTW and WVR and made my own set of 290. Since you made the recommendation of the left side, WHat should I set to the right side and on the off hand? There won't be a capped scrip. We'll have red and yellow for the foreseeable future.
You could probably buy the mats for the crafted set for less than 1 mil as well. Meld a craft V/control V onto each left side piece, and a control V on the MH tool, that'll put you at 2 craftsmanship above the full scrip set, and 8 control below it. No pentamelding needed, and it's a set for all DoH classes.
You could even switch out the crafted MH tool for the yellow scrip one, and that'll put you at +30 craftsmanship/+7 control over the full yellow scrip set.

It wasn't really a recommendation, but just to show how easy it is to get to the same stats as the yellow scrips.
You're better off prioritizing CP before craftsmanship/control.
I'm torn...on the one hand that could be kinda cool...on the other hand, I HATE the very concept of job specific gear - I do not want to maintain multiple crafting sets unless they want to expand our armory X 2, then - maybe.

15 combat jobs. 8 DoH. 3 DoL. 35 slots per Armoury Chest page.
I don't see why there should be any problem with having job-specific gear all around, space-wise. There's room. I don't really like it for the crafters/gatherers because it creates a big issue with melding everything (its 8 times the crafting sets to be melded, and 3 times the gathering sets to be melded) when all DoH need to be melded the same way, and all DoH need to be melded the same way.
DoM/DoW gear, I'd be all for nothing but job-specific gear sets. While yes, all tanks need to be melded the same way, not all healers want the same things, and the DPS casters all want their own stuff meld-wise.
There is room if you have all the jobs at 70 and keep no glamour gear in the armory. I'm going to go ahead and guess most people have more jobs not 70 than 70...so you have TONS of gear at different levels. There is no where near enough space.15 combat jobs. 8 DoH. 3 DoL. 35 slots per Armoury Chest page.

Not gonna lie, there simply isn't enough inventory space to hold on to all the job specific stuff, especially if this relic line takes a twist and includes armor.15 combat jobs. 8 DoH. 3 DoL. 35 slots per Armoury Chest page.

26 gear slots taken by all 26 classes/jobs, 35 slots per page.
That's 9 slots extra (technically ten because you cannot keep all 26 in inventory, one has to be worn).
If that is not enough room, then people are not being smart about their inventory. No, it is NOT smart to hold on to every gear set level as you level MNK just so you have gear for your SAM. Your SAM will earn its own gear as you go. If you want to carry all that extra gear around, carry just enough for the SAM to grow into, and not stuff higher than that.
As for Glamour gear - once you have it Glamoured onto something else, store it on a retainer. Yes, you need to keep it. But no, you don't need to hold onto it to keep the look.
There's more than enough room. You just cannot be stupid about it.

This always bugged me, and leaves me thinking how well people understand the concept of opportunity cost. Right now it is 44 yellow scripts (max) per Twinsilk Sash of Casting, this takes 7 twinthread or 28 twincoons. now it is 1300 for tool, 400 for hat, 900 for body, 400 for hands, 350 for legs, 350 for feet, total 3700, you would need to craft 85 of these things for the set, 85 times 28= 2380, now if we assume an average of 5 items gained every 20 seconds with self gathering, that is 9520 seconds, that is about 2.5 hours, then to craft a thread it is about 15 seconds, since it seems quick synth would break a lot if you are in the process of gearing, so then it is 9 synths, because 7 for the threads, plus 2 more to make the cloths, to do that 85 times is 11475 seconds or 3 hours, so to gather the threads and craft them yourself (this neglects the Grade 1 Reisui of Intelligence stuff) you are looking at 5+ hours of work, in this time you could make something in 30 seconds or so and sell it for 100k+, it is far cheaper to meld the i290 stuff, even as "free" you are losing money from crafting something that you could be selling in the time it takes you 5+ hours to do. You did not do 3 sets for free, in 2 hours, it is not mathematically possible. It is not even possible do that with one set for "free" You make WAY more money with the i290 set and penta melding them. (Plus better stats)I understand the logic in the 290 gear but i have 3 sets of yellow script (just my specs) and i feel its gona do just fine amd i meanshit it was practically free lol. Ill prob do like another person in this thread get a piece or two of the crafted gear and meld it if i have to. But with full YS and food i think its highly unlikely that ill have to.
The yellow script gear is not worth the effort, time, or money (if you buy all the materials) to make. SE really needs to really analyze what they implement.
