the class-specific, i170 gear alongside astral birch and griffin accs, all of which needed favor mats

Chromite Ore, Palladium Ore, Rhea, Torreya Log, True Griffin Hide. This stuff will be used to make crafted version of the yellow scrip gear. I'm sure. Also probably i320 battle gear which probably have better stats than Omega normal when HQ and melded.
Don't waste your time with this yellow scrip gear. Spend your time hitting legendary node and sending your retainer instead.
Yep - I really hope they add VI's for yellow scrips tooChromite Ore, Palladium Ore, Rhea, Torreya Log, True Griffin Hide. This stuff will be used to make crafted version of the yellow scrip gear. After looking at the costs of these items it's a hard pass. You would probably spend half in cost pentamelding the basic stuff that making all those collectables.. I'm getting MH and that's it.

Well be sure to at least cap your scrips. Because chances are you will need them to buy new Rowenas tokens for masterwork books.Chromite Ore, Palladium Ore, Rhea, Torreya Log, True Griffin Hide. Right now I am just stockpiling materials so when the time comes I can easily make whatever I need to get the scrips to buy masterbook.Yeah I will probably go ahead and cap 2000 before the patch 4.05 though. Will make whatever is on the bonus that I can make cheap in the next two weeks.
Also buying stuff like mastercraft demimateria, fieldcraft demimateria III, and dawnlight aethersands before the price go through the roof after the patch. :P

Prices for all those aethersands (minus Dusklight) will skyrocket once the patch drops.

Agreed, those did come out with 3.05; however, this time around there doesn't appear to be any place for the "true" AF to fit in. In Heavensward the white gear was ilvl 150, the "true" AF was 170, and the Scrip gear was 180. The "true" AF had lower stats than the Scrip Gear but could be melded to exceed it. White Gear with max melds couldn't exceed the Scrip Gear.
This time around, there's only a 10 ilvl gap between white gear and scrip gear and white gear can easily be melded to exceed the scrip gear. As such, I honestly don't think "true" AF is going to exist this time around as I have no idea where it would fit into the equation.
Maybe ilvl 295 with slightly higher stats than the white gear but then the question remains of is it worth it to make 8 different sets for the boost provided by only 5 ilvls?

I've thought about that too. But to think they would let casual gear be the only possible way... Perhaps they'll come up with 310~320 crafted and a little later, they'll augment the peasant gear for casuals just like they did with the 180-200 progression.Agreed, those did come out with 3.05; however, this time around there doesn't appear to be any place for the "true" AF to fit in.
