Is CNJ a viable DPS?

Alright, thank you for the feedback. It seems with the recent announcement as CNJ and WHM we're going to become more of a healing role in 1.20. I'm in a bit of a gear limbo as to what to get materia wise considering I would really love to nuke, but don't want to waste the precious little gil I have if CNJ nukes are going to be non-existent to poor in the next patch.

If Gil is tight, my suggestion is set you main CNJ gear setup to be a healer....then go after the rare/ex gears to supplement/create a nuker set. That way, you don't waste too much gil. That being said, we don't know what will actually happen to CNJ as a class once 1.21 comes out. Nor do we know what spells/abilities they will get to keep. I mean yes, CNJ unlocks WHM...but once we have WHM that will become the 'healer' role, not CNJ. So maybe CNJ's DD spells will do a bit more in upcoming patches (if we get to keep them) But because so many questions have yet to be answered on the spell set for CNJ/THM and then CNJ/WHM THM/BLM I'd play it safe and only worry about healer setup currently....worry about the rest when we know more.

Personally, I'm still hoping that CNJ retains some decent DD power...otherwise CNJ is just 'WHM lite' ....and that's lame.
