Approaching my 20th group in attempt to clear Susano Ex (Party Finder, not Duty Finder, so hopefully it still fits here). Out of the 40+ previous attempts, only 2-3 had at least chance at success. I join "kill for friend", it fills fast and some people apparently have the clear already and just want to help.

1st attempt is awesome, everything goes smoothly and I'm convinced it will finally be a kill when someone messes up the safety line + cloud line combination and we wipe near the very end. Oh well, it sucks, but this party definitely has it, so let's do it again. 2nd attempt goes great again, but at 30% one of the healers DCs. It happens, we wipe and wait for healer to come back. One of the DPS suddenly drops the group (?) so we leave the instance - I assume to find a replacement.

Party leader disbands the party.

Words cannot describe how much I hate you right now.

I'm glad some tanks and DPS get to have fun when they pull 3-4 packs in Expert Roulette, but make sure you check with your healer that it's cool. Melting mobs may be fun for you, and that's great! But spamming Benefic II and praying for Essential Dignity to come off CD is not fun for me.

Remember to communicate with your healers before you pull big, people!

Are 3-4 packs even possible yet with current gear? I accidentally pulled two (so 8 total mobs) in Ala Mhigo last night (I thought it was the last pack before a laser wall), and we only got 4 down before we succumbed. Aside from me losing track of which pull we were on, the only other thing that stood out was that our BLM never used LB, and I'm not sure that would have been enough anyway.

That was our only real mishap, though, so ..... not bad for my second time tanking it, I guess? -.-

not about someone else, but i have not slept in a while and accidentally just dropped in the middle of Dusk Vigil mistaking the boss before the last for the end. whoops. must have been weird for the party seeing the goodbye macros and having someone ditch when nobody did anything wrong. i was confused trying to give the healer a commendation and just shrugged it off. time to sleep i guess. shouldn't be doing dungeons at 2 AM anymore

Did a run of Ala Mhigo earlier and it was great. We made excellent time and everyone was on point. Note worthy event though was during second boss after everyone returned to their bodies we were dpsing the boss down when I notice the tank's HP drop dangerously low (like 3000ish). I actually went "Oh shit!" and used Benediction. The boss died shortly after and the tank piped up.

Tank: I trusted the heals
Tank: and I was right to do so
Me: XD I almost shit my pants

Probably not going to do main scenario roulette anymore. Been doing it every day for exp since stormblood and it's always a mixed bag of leechers/afkers and i'm not talking about new players thinking they can watch the scenes. today I just got super triggered by a tank, with every job and crafter at 60, with some at 70, AFKing by pretending to watch the cutscenes. The rest of the group never said a word, not one single word at all. When I asked him to join us, or why he is watching them at his experience level, I vote dismissed AFK but I couldn't do it till late in the dungeon because you get combat locked by the 1st group you skip. They didn't dismiss him, and didn't say a word. It's almost every time you do these main scenario you have multiple people slacking off or not doing there part and it's not worth it.

Yes. Probably not with pugs, though. But when I bring one of my FC healers with me, I always pull wall to wall in all the expert dungeons.

Possible? Yes. Fun? Not personally, no. I know some healer mains in this thread have mentioned they like the rush, and they like being pushed to do their job: healing. I'm not a big fan of that, but differing playstyles. I'm cool with risky pulls if the tank lets me know in advance.

More on topic: been spamming levelling roulette with my DRK to get materia. It's kind of amazing how many Diurnal-sect ASTs or WHMs refuse to use OCDs or regen.

On the other hand, just had a smooth run with a SCH who kept me alive through incoming D/Cs and output good damage. You can definitely tell when people know what they're doing.

You can still DPS during those trash pulls. I have no issues with my healers not being able to pump out some DPS during big pulls.

(edit)Again, not something I would put a pug healer through. I was simply pointing out that it is indeed possible to pull the maximum you can pull in these dungeons since Kokoru asked if that was possible.

Most tanks do that already with me, i think what they do is test me on the first few pulls, because nearly everytime, without fail, they start pulling everything possible. brittle tanks however means less DPS time.
