It would definitely be a lot better if they made movement during casting drastically slow casting down rather than cancel it entirely. Same should go for being hit, no more hard interruptions for a vanilla smack upside the head. Casters in XIV aren't glass cannony enough to justify repeated breaks in their ability to attack, and the mechanic is there for nothing more than flavor/tradition at this point.
I always suggested Surecast to be changed to be a spell making the caster able to move while casting the next spell every 30 seconds. They said they were removing useless abilities, but they "buffed" surecast so you can't get interupted by stuns or knockbacks, yet every mechanic that knocks you back, still does even with the spell on. SE, please? ._.
