FF12 takes place several centuries BEFORE FFT iirc.

And I don't see Square writing themselves into a corner with some reveal like, EORZEA IS THE SETTING TO FINAL FANTASY XY! But they might say that FF12/Tactics takes place on Eorzea, as I find it unlikely they're doing much with that setting or series.
