As for immersion; wtf I'm not 'immersing' myself. Jump has no purpose other than to make this game like "Every other MMO". Which is all you and your jumping wanna bes want it for. I quote it because that has been the consensus and "reasoning" behind "needing" jump. And you are a perfect example as to why it is being added. You completely fail to see the logic of jump being nothing more than a band-aid to fix a mechanics issue because you all can't take the f*cking time to walk/run around a log or stone. Takes to much effort for your lazy ass to pay attention while your watching anime instead of playing the game.
Someone's mad. People like to freely move without being stuck to the ground, a fact that you can't seem to grasp. Sorry, there's a larger market for jumping than there is for the extremely dated cling/invisible wall route. "Every other MMO" has it because the majority wants it, because we expect free movement these days. Raid encounters will have the option to make use of the feature in platforming elements.
