Yoshida actually did state it a few times in different interviews. The links are scattered through the forums though as it was old news anyway.

Hmm. I'd like a link, I've read most (if not all) of the interviews fairly thoroughly and I'm unaware of any statement naming classes to jobs apart from Gladiator -> Paladin and Lancer -> Dragoon.

Well, I find it a little odd that facts become common knowledge some time after they are released, then johhny come lately posters say what? where? How? after being out of the loop for a while or whatever there reason is, then expect us to hunt down links for them and post them..........Because they won't put any effort into looking it up there selves, we are the trolls......odd view....but okay.

bards are not going to be rubbish. there not the job i want to play for sure, but i don't want to play healer. but just coz i don't want to be healer don't make them any less important. i can see every1 wanting a bard in there group

I look forward to playing Bard as soon as it is released. I imagine it to be a fun support class if it still retains the Archer abilities and have much needed buffs for the group.
