I doubt it helps them more than the crit and direct they get in its place.

But SS helps DRG's poke things faster with their stick...unfortunately it appears those pokes are pretty weak though.

There is traditional Samurai armor in the game right now. You just have to do Omega for it.

Not only that but now EVERYBODY can be a feudal samurai, no matter how thematically ridiculous it is.

armored samurai have no point in relative peace. what hingashi is... even if the different lord fight each other, it's more a war of manipulation than direct war.
plus the samurai master we receive is more a ronin or a wanderer samurai, then one more time not an armored samurai.

people seems to think armored samurai is the norm, when samurai only wear armor on the battlefield. what was more in the warring ages than anything, samurai in everyday life was wearing light clothing.

Ya I see no point in people mocking SAM armor for all Jobs as well.

Samurai were well known to use other weapons beyond Katanas such as bow and spears. Katana was served more like the SAM combat Knife for when things had to get close and personal.

Maybe not right now, but if for some reason they get dragged into a war with the empire then you might start seeing the tradtional armored Samurai.
