I've been having packetloss problems for months from Chicago. While the latency from here to the new data center is worse, the packetloss has been a lot better.

Also... wifi? Really? The latency jump happens on the cross country hop, because of course it did. He could be running 1000gbps magic networking cable of annihilation to his router and it wouldn't change the ping times cross country.

The Montreal ISP was HORRIBLE about dropping packets. The California one seems better, but I still get disconnected all the time.
