I play mainly DPS jobs so I have a bit of a different perspective than tanks on it. However, the one nice thing being 1 of 2 DPS jobs is I am sure our group DPS will be at least "ok". Regardless if the other DPS is a bard pulling 1.5k DPS in temple of the fist which has happened more than once. I can only imagine how irritating it is to play with two of those low pulling DPS in the same dungeon, I would gladly take a 30 minute DF penalty than go through that

So, while I wish tanks felt different about DF since I do a lot of grouping through DF, I can understand why they feel the way they do

I think the problem is so bad due to both sides. From the official census, we know for certain that fewer people level and play tanks than DPS. I think the 2016 official census put them around 21% for tank players. The problem is then amplified by the fact that when I (as a tank player) want to do a roulette, I can ask my FC first and more often than not fill a party completely before I ever even grab a PUG. I would assume many other tank players do this as well.

If this is the WORST you have to offer in the DF then stop making posts on this thread, that is fine and nothing "Terrible" Of course if your with friends or your FC its smoother, Your friends, your coordinated or use voice, the DF uses much less but no content in this game outside of Extreme battles need major coordination to clear at all, even for a super casual player. This is the problem im talking about, You make it sound like the DF is a terrible method of gameplay that hurts FFXIV and that is NOT the case.
A few attempts? Where did I ever say that we wiped? I never said we wiped. I said I had to solo heal and people were eating avoidable damage (aside from the 2 tanks I queued with). Also the healer wasn't a first timer. That was the sad part. The even sadder part was my FC mate was calling out every single mechanic (for the BRD who was new) and the healer was still getting hit by all of them. The saddest part was the newbie BRD didn't take any unavoidable damage which is why I gave them my commendation. Oh trust me, this isn't the worst. I'm just too lazy to black out names from my first Dun Scaith run. It's "fine" if you don't mind wasting time. It's "fine" if you don't mind heal carrying baddies standing in crap. And the fact that it's smoother is my point. That's why every tank and healer who has friends is not going to queue for DF. Maybe you don't mind wasting 15 minutes but I'm sure many players have limited time and would like to get their roulettes done in a timely fashion.

Inb4 I need to show every screenshot of numbers from the Balance Discord to prove DF is bad. In a way, it does hurt FFXIV. Because of players just playing their own way and not wanting to improve (and the way they treat higher performance; see thread for another example) and because of certain players that harass others, tank and healers will avoid queuing for DF if possible. You can see so many tanks and healers in this thread say they only run with friends. There are reasons for that. There's also a reason the Tales From Duty Finder thread is over 1000 pages.

Also I'll comment on whatever thread I want. :P

Honestly, it's irritating to me when I see the other DPS not AoEing on a DPS job. But when I'm on a tank, it's even more irritating. Same, I'd rather take the 30 minute penalty and go do something else rather than sit through that. But nah man DF is "fine".
