    REQUEST: Temporary Removal of the Ixion Fate

    I know, crazy idea, but given that it's a world event that can (and has) crashed servers and caused server congestion preventing people not just from enjoying the fight, but even from preventing people not even doing the fight from other events in the zone such as questing, gathering or other forms of leveling. I'm sure it's a fun fight worthy of a massive stage, but it has been twisting the knife in servers already plagued by congestion issues and concerns over server stability.

    To alleviate the problems that the Ixion fate has caused, I would propose its temporary removal from the game until such a time in which all servers are stable enough to deal with the full mass of people on any given server that would wish to take part in the fight all occupying a single instance. It would be important to note that the number of players participating typically range in the hundreds, or otherwise the current population limit for the instance containing the Lochs zone.

    An alternative solution to this matter would also be to turn the Ixion fight from a fate into its own trial fight. As making a grand-scale fight into a trial has worked for the Urth's Font fight in patch 2.5 to a relative success, this could also just as easily work for the Ixion fight as well with the sole difference of still removing the fate itself and replacing it with an Ixion trial. In addition to converting this fight from a open-world fate to the enclosed arena of a trial, it would ease the population load on the Lochs instance.

    This is not about who has or doesn't have the mount, or who may be however close they are to getting the mount. This is about solving a problem plaguing multiple servers on what is now a weekly basis.

    This request is also something that should be considered to be a temporary solution so that all players--not just those players parking in the Lochs for hours until it spawns and causing continuous strain on that instance, but all players--can ultimately have access not just to the shiny pony at the end of an electrified rainbow, but also what should be the grand and amazing fight that the fate is currently failing to be.

    I would be mad as hell if I had questing to do in the Lochs and couldn't because people were camping Ixion for HOURS on end.

    Its annoying enough when both an important ephemeral node and salt crystals both spawn in that zone.

    They don't need to remove it - just do what they did with Odin: Make it have a random chance to spawn in any of the Gyr Abania zones. You can't camp it if it's literally equally likely to spawn in three different zones.

    Or, just bring instances back for the Lochs, and disable it in one instance so there is always an instance that won't crash.

    The problem there is that even if it had a chance to spawn in any one of those areas, you'd still have wherever it actually did spawn swarmed with hundreds of players, maxing out the instance, and we'd be back to square one. On top of that, this still wouldn't solve the issue regarding the sheer amount of lag experienced by most players throughout the fight.

    This would only work if players could select which instance to go to upon teleporting to the zone, otherwise we'd also need re-instancing for the Peaks so the migration of people trying to get to that one Lochs instance won't crash the instance for that zone as well.
