For most content, you should just already be in melee range by default. Use Corps-a-corps and Displacement for pure damage or for mechanic-specific movements rather than committing them to your melee combo, and position manually during Dualcasts.

Guys, this class is played by bads as well. It is completely obvious that the general playstyle is supposed to be: castcastcast, 80+, jump in, slash it up, jump out again and start over. It is completely irrelevant that the current optimized rotation reverses that (actually that's a design oversight). This -completely new job- needs this tiny cd tweak for normal play.

Just cast stuff and move in between the Dualcast GCD. Plan ahead if you're nearing 80/80 and Corps is still charging up for a bit.

Are you saying your bad? Are you saying you need this cd tweak to not be bad? Cause thats what it sounds like..Guys, this class is played by bads as well. Jesus the responses in this thread. So what if I was bad? Me being bad or not is completely irrelevant. Basically you saw 'bad' in the post, skipped all the rest and went "Lol no he's bad" just now. I was talking about the difference between using the current meta of using displacement/corps-a-corps in that order (solely for the dps increase, and where the 40s cooldown doesn't matter) from melee range vs how the class -clearly- was designed to play which is corps-a-corps, melee combo, displacement. And I'm pointing our a problem that breaks the flow of the class for normal (not super min/max) players, in that corps-a-corps is often not ready when you need to jump in or hit 100/100. Stupid workarounds like, "just run in then", "just wait a bit, cast some more" are not helpful. It's a completely new class, we're literally v.01 away from 4.0. It's not gonna be perfect right off the bat.

The job's most prominent mechanic is not the melee combo, but the Dualcast trait, which is not only critical to the efficient execution of the job's other mechanics, but is also the most RDM thing about RDM beyond the hat. You get the Dualcast trait at Lv1, before even learning any actions you can actually use with it. That's how RDM it is.
The job -clearly- was designed to give us many opportunities to employ clever workarounds like, "just run in then", where taking advantage of the Dualcast mechanic gives us the freedom to be whereever we need to be whenever we need to be there.

Well there is a neat skill that resets it but its used in the opener.
I feel like even just 2 seconds shorter would be perfect from personal experience.

I think i wouldn't mind it shortened a bit, but usually its up when I need it most. If not, I'm one to just use my melee combo without it, and just use it the next time. Put it at 35s call it a day. Having it shortened actually wouldn't affect much considering your using it only when you get 80/80 offset anyway, optimally that is.
