SE's Responsibility: Housing Situation

Let's get something straight, pretty sure it was mentioned that these players are housed in Ward 12, a ward which has not been open for "years", so the the logic that those houses were open and dormant for years is flawed. To be perfectly honest? I could see them having 16 houses and wouldn't think much of it besides them being rude, but the fact that they literally created false FCs with one member each to get even more houses? That is nonsense and no amount of "This is our server first" "Those houses were open" "They couldn't forsee what would happen" is going to justify that. It was truly an exploitation of the system to be greedy, their excuses while trying to be passionate and emotional, fall as flat as my face when I see the number 28. Housing is limited, have respect for others and don't take so much more than you need, which is the mindset SE had when the made the system, but doesn't work in the US. There is blame on both sides, and rightly so.

Personally, I'm glad this situation has exposed the problem to the level that it has, because now it's more likely than not that there will be a fix in a later patch that puts a hard limit on the number of houses that can be owned per server on a single account.

Easy fix for housing... just add rent to the game, few other mmos have it like that and it works fairly well. Just keep apartments free but for plots do something like 100k a week or so, maybe more or less depending on plot size. Either make it so you can pay up to like a month in advance or just have it auto take from you, your retainers, or FC chest...

Sure, let's get something straight: You are wrong. If the number is your problem, then you don't really have a problem with the issue, so quit crying. This isn't rude. There is no need to justify anything. The houses were open. They bought them. That is cut-and-dry. It is not their responsibility to NOT buy things they want, no more than it is your responsibility to craft for people who are too lazy to craft. They didn't exploit anything. People had an opportunity to buy those plots. They didn't. So these two did. End of story.

I think its time they fix housing permanently. Make one communal ward per region with instanced housing plots accessible from there, similar to how apartments function with the lobby. Existing houses could be transferred so people don't loose anything.

Also, it would be nice if they added activities to the community wards to promote their use; swimming/surfing in Limsa, Chocobo racing in Gridania, Slot machines in Ulda?

really some entitled little shiets here. just out of spite i hope SE does nothing. You ALL had a chance and had been asked and even been shown the signs that the server you was on was OVERPOPULATED, and was asked to leave or stop inviting people to those server MULTIPLE times. And yet i guarantee that almost every last on of you who came from those servers didn't want to leave because of "friends" because of "fc" because of "connections". God piss off. these people was TIRED of a DEAD housing ward. and decided to buy and DECK OUT EACH HOUSE themselves. At this point you dont deserve to OWN a house. pay them rent at this point. cuz id kill to have people in my ward who would actually furnish their houses who'd actually be there at least some times. tsk i bet yal just buy them and leave it empty.

Back again to clear something up...I am NOT on Mateus. I made this thread for people who are on Mateus, and other respectful and dedicated gamers who would like a house but have been denied that for reasons of personal greed that could have been avoided by SE putting proper restrictions on housing before they started asking people to move servers. I don't have a horse in this race, but I do have respect for other people on my server that may want to enjoy the content locked behind housing and just have the one FC house and one apartment. Most of your responses don't show much more than contempt for basic decency and a lack of compassion for people who are trying to enjoy themselves and have to put up with all the other places that people don't care to share in their enjoyment up to this point where they get literally locked out of content for reasons which could have been controlled by SE themselves, then bolstered by US players who have no care for others.

It wasn't populated before but now it is, the original players of Mateus should get used to it. You're no more entitled to anything in the game than somebody that's just arrived, end of discussion.

So in other words everyone thinks their special, everyone deserves a home, but hey ignore people who work hard, camp plots, save gill, have funds. If it's there and people miss out on it why is it wrong? Just like in real life if a house is on sale and you miss out who are you going to complain to? Hello city please add more homes? Hello people please move out to another city so we can buy homes here? Housing in a way works like in real life. Spaces are limited, takes time to make room ect. People should realize this by now. Gonna just say I agree with most of the sentiment here supporting the two. They raised the gil by themselves and bought the houses, just because a flood of people came over doesn't mean that they were guaranteed any kind of housing concessions. They're within the TOS, so go make a FC room or something.
