    Hissatsu: Seigan should reduce enmity

    SAM is another one of THOSE dps like MNK and BLM that generates absurd amounts of enmity in a very short time.

    Now that all dps have diversion this really shouldn't be a problem, yet I never see SAMs using it, they probably take other role skills and don't think they need diversion?

    Because they don't use diversion, SAM is another dps like HW MNK that generates so much enmity that they're constantly nipping at the tanks heels and have no native enmity control to deal with it.

    So, my suggestion is add an enmity dump onto hissatsu: seigan similar to DRGs elusive jump. Since hissatsu: seigan only procs when the SAM is hit it would mean they could use it if they take hate to shed hate, or just use it when hit by AoEs to dump enmity. This would make seigan more than just an oGCD when the SAM is hit and make it something quite useful in their kit.

    I use Diversion and it feels like it doesn't help (granted this is with tanks for use VIT accessories). I still end up insanely high on threat, and eventually will pull if I crit. Which likes to happen a lot.

    What? SAMs aren't taking a role skill that they should be....so it should be merged with their current skill set? Lol. So should required skills for every other role. Maybe they should learn to play. See that blinking light? It means slow down. Enmity control is not solely on tanks.

    In all the times I've done dungeons as a SAM, and even the first time I did the Omega 1-4, I've had no trouble with enmity. I don't use Diversion, sure, but that's cause I've never needed it. I don't know. It's weird. I'm not saying it's not a problem, I'm just saying I might be an outlier.

    Although the occasional time I did see myself taking a lot of hate, I would stop attacking for a bit. Not sure if that's a good thing.

    Enmity is not an issue if the tank isn't a halfwit.

    If you go into your DPS stance ensure you return back to your tank stance and throw out some Enmity combos outside of your burst if you're having struggles with threat.

    DPS not using diversion (especially high threat jobs) is easily solved by letting them grab aggro and die. When they get ressed they don't have any threat! Free Lucid Dream!

    Yes a tank can use more aggro generators, but that's exactly why we're in this situation. DPS needs to learn the hard way. If the tank curtails his own dps by using the aggro combo more to compensate because DPS don't use a -completely free ability that should be used constantly-, it's a net dps loss for the group.

    NO. It's fun as hell to be nipping at the tanks heels! One of my favorite moments playing SAM was ripping off my BiS STR SwO tank friend in an expert roulette and forcing him to use extra aggro combos to keep the hate off me. :c It's supremely gratifying to push the hate so hard. Incidentally I gave up on Diversion because even on MCH I never see tanks leave tank stance, so I just slot in more utility because Diversion is useless if they aren't dps stancing.

    ^basically the reason this is being asked for.

    I kind of agree purely because seigan is a defensive stance where the attacker limits their offense to put themselves in a position where they can step back from enemy attacks. As it is right now it's just a counter attack that only increases offense, pretty much the exact opposite of what seigan stance is.

    Is it something extra though? I never really understood SE reasoning on this one, mnk and sam, the dps that generate huge amounts of enmity from pure damage have no enmity control, while nin and drg, the dps that generate less enmity from doing less damage that they make up for by boosting other people's damage (namely the mnk and sams) get enmity dumps?
