Still waiting for half the people who complain about "bad jump players" in their groups to say how they know those players jumped the character. Some may say so but i highly doubt that many people are openly admitting to buying a jump potion, given the potential for backlash (as proved in this thread)

I have a solid reason: I have a friend who returned to this game with his GF. he boosted his new character so He could: Help her and continue the game from where he left off in 2.0 instead of doing the whooole thing again. His old character is NOT on his current account and he has lost the info for that account. I have an established FC and many friends on my current server so I will not swap my main over and am hesitant to start a new character on his server since I'd have to pay for a boost pot if I wanted to do stuff with him. Money for pots is not an issue for him though, his problem currency is time. With no limit on the pots, he could make a new char on my server and boost it right up, but since it's 1 per account he's stuck. No transfers on new characters for 90 days and all that.
it would also be nice to someday boost some alts and see the world through different perspectives (lala, Roga, hume) .

Only 1 jump potion should be allowed.... you do get an exp boost after you reach level 50 for any other jobs below, not sure about 60 or 70. Allowing more than 1 jump potion makes achivements for leveling jobs useless... You also get extra exp if you logout in an in...

I personally think the jump potions are a horrid idea to begin with, so 1 is more then enough.

And this is the reason why the "hot topic" of jump potions or mechanisms in which new players would be offered the ability to by-pass a significant portion of the story so that they can join their friends/family already further in the game... hmm, while I can definitely appreciate the option presented (since options are never a bad thing)... making this a "regular thing" for the sake of... hmm "I just don't wanna have ta go back and level yo...from level 1 to 60 or 70 cuz dats just too long yo..gimme anudda potion and take me muniez! Yo! SE!"...

I'm not going to swim through 18 pages of replies, but has anyone mentioned that they said it'll be one jump potion per account until 4.1?

Topic on hand: I don't mind the idea of jump potions personally. I've been playing since the game's beta and I've always loathed the idea of leveling, especially as DPS. I've actually been considering jumping my monk (18) as I have a fully decked 60 monk on my alt. I don't want to go through the process of leveling it again.

Yup, and the salt of all the people who think that mindlessly pressing two buttons in fates for 10 hours to level a new class somehow prevents a player from being terrible when they hit cap is going to be insane.

Seriously, it boosts you to 60 and you still need to level to 70. If a player isn't going to learn the class in those 10 levels, they weren't going to do so in the previous 1-59 levels either.

In all honesty, who are we to judge some one with what they do with their money? Sure they can suck butt, sure they can slow the party down. But there's already people like that and they played the game normally. All we can do is filter them out and move on.

Honestly, having just 1 is probably enough. Any more and you get the WoW issue of "Fresh Warlock, doesn't know how to keep dots up" problem. We already have a slight problem with newer players not knowing their class soon after hitting that first dungeon, but seems to be less of an issue the further down the road you go.

How you spend your money is a choice you make, so sure it can be judged. We're all judged by the choices we make in life.

Not to mention, how people spend their money influences how the company will do things in the future. If we think spending patterns will negatively impact the game, we have every right and reason to voice our concerns.
