I don't know how or why others used the level 60 jump, but for me I wanted to roll a SAM which needed to be level 50, so I used the 60 jump to roll a MNK and trained a SAM. That's when the work started for me, I had to level the 50 SAM to level 60 which meant I had to complete the Heavensward content so I could get the Stormblood quests...took me some time but I learned to play the SAM in 10 levels..
Lots of work but worth it...

No they shouldn't have and hopefully they never do. DoH and DoL are optional content. They do not directly interfere with you trying to complete the story, side quests, endgame raids. People who level these choose to because its a way for them to make an impact on the life skilling aspect of the game. The way the economy is now is already pretty brutal dealing with impatient people undercutting for thousands or even millions. Most players work hard trying to make a market for themselves, compared to boosting a battle class its not the same at all.

I'd love for jump potions to be unlimited, and come with a required transfer to a "jump potions only" server. with other server players having the option to exclude you in their queue. I'm tired of running with a jumped tanks who die every mob fight or boss fight in dungeons, how are you even enjoying the game?

The reasons to implement these jump potions in the first place were as follows.

None of those points require you to have more than one job boosted. Would you look at that, all the talk about playing with friends and reaching end game faster was bull. In reality people just wanted to throw money at the game so they don't have to actually complete the things they want completed. You'll probably get what you want because nothing persuades the devs faster than a horde of people trying to lose their money. I just hope they keep crafting and gathering out of it so that the boost potions don't screw up the markets for everyone.

I doubt it. Like most companies that release these buy this to unlock all this they will do it. They know people out there are dumb enough to buy it.

I am quite sure that one will be able to buy more than one jump potion because it makes SE money and this is the most important thing for them (at least thats the feeling I get..). But seeing the reasons why it was implemented it should never be more than one because you only need one job to enjoy endgame with your friends..

(Funny how SE said that barely anyone used the jump potion for story or jobs in China but on the mog station the story one is on the third place of sold items..)

Please SE, if you somehow decide to let people buy more than one potion..please never ever include the gatherers and crafters in this, because they are not needed in endgame content and there should be at least one part of the game left, where people cant buy their way to 60.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

See.. with these i bought one for a class that I know that I will never play on an alt for the bonus exp on classes that i do play. So i would like to be able to buy one /per character/ so that i can level them faster and just solo dungeons i don't feel like being in a party finder for in the early game.

You know i finally got to see everything there is to see and read everything there is to read in the first several dungeons while running them solo with my 60 boosted job? I didn't even know about the hold in sastasha where you could optionally find a bunch of slave girls that express thanks for being freed and i have been playing ffxiv since release.

No one could rush me this time because I could solo things. Up until i finally had to go with people for the end section of ARR and then suddenly i had to skip every cutscene just to /barely/ keep up with everyone sprinting through the dungeon gathering a dozen+ mobs at a time to get finished. Fun right? No. It sucked.

People want to say "lol or you could play the game lol" but that is easy to say when you aren't the one wanting to actually enjoy content on your own time as much as you want to on a game where people only think about themselves. Most people you party with want to skip cutscenes, skip story, skip everything, no mechanics, no exploration, and none for anyone else either.

There are already skip potions running around the game and they have always been there to make people hurry up and finish things. Thousands of them in fact. They are called speedrunners. And they want you to miss out on everything you are paying for so they can move on to the next thing they want to rush through /right now/

I love xiv, and I make new characters frequently. So being able to give my characters a boost so i can get to later points in the game that i want to relive is great.

People want to say it opens the door to more bad tanks and healers? Welcome to dutyfinder in general, you can't blame jump potions for a toxic issue that has been there since /always/ No, it may have gotten worse but it has always been an issue and people having to relearn their rotation because of the revamp is adding to it aswell. People high up should have an FC to run things with anyway if you need to know you are getting a good party, that doesn't always help people who only have a certain amount of time to play (most humans are asleep when i am online)

I vote for 1 potion per character and that's it.
I also suggest that if you are using it on what will be your main job that you take the time to actually /learn your job/ and for anyone who has a problem with it to learn that the world doesn't revolve around you no matter how big your ilevel is. If you don't want to use a boost don't, it isn't your business if other people choose to do so.

Play with friends and family.... That's just what leveling is about. But alas today's generation of gamers want everything served on a silver platter. At least we got the butler/maid oufits to go with this mentality.
