it's definitely not you. As a Samurai, these armors are awesome
Me as a white mage? I kind of look silly in it

I feel bad for all monks having to share gear with samurai.
They will obviously focus on samurai design.
I feel like this gear should have dropped in Doma and something else shown up here that was more thematic.

To be honest, in my opinion...aside of the new Artifact Armor, all the new designs added with the Stormblood expansion have been awful.
Most people playing this game have no clue what armor was what in FFV. All they will see is ugly generic looking samurai armor.

I was pretty disappointed myself when I saw the Omega gear. And I AM playing Samurai. It might be fitting for the job, but its by far the ugliest gear I've seen in this game. And every job looks like Samurai gear, which I mean.. okay fine, Doman themes abound in Stormblood.. but its still ugly as snot.
I appreciate how different it is compared to other available sets (including the new dungeon/crafted sets). It doesn't fit my personal style, but I could at least consider ever using it for glamour, unlike Dreadwyrm or anything from Alexander. The bad coloring will be fixed when we get the dyable versions.

The appearance of the Warrior of Light and the Onion Knight are far more iconic than that of the Genji Armor, which has only made a visible appearance in a handful of concept art and no character in the entire series has ever been shown wearing it.
I'm a fairly big FF fan and I'll admit that if it wasn't for the name I wouldn't have even considered the fact that the sets are supposed to be Genji gear.
It's still a staple in the vast majority of Final Fantasy games, appearing in almost all of them, even spinoffs, sequels, and non FF titles such as Bravely Default. It absolutely has a place in FFXIV, and it being Raid gear is entirely fitting. The appearance of the Warrior of Light and the Onion Knight are far more iconic than that of the Genji Armor, which has only made a visible appearance in a handful of concept art and no character in the entire series has ever been shown wearing it.
