Could also give people a button in the config to hide pets.
Bahamut is not technically even a pet. It has no health bar and can not be targeted. It's just a graphical effect like any other skill with a big flashy effect. A good comparison would be the frog that appears during that one ninja skill.
Which is why the most simple solution is just include it as an effect which can be hidden through the character config.
Or reduce it's size to 2/3 of what it is now. That would probably help those that are affected by it. I'm typically on a ranged when I am paired with a SMN, or they are far enough back that it doesn't affect my camera more than turning it 5 degrees to either side. Though, most of the time my camera is at an angle to whatever I'm fighting(looking downwards towards my character) and not directly horizontal/vertical.Bahamut is not technically even a pet. Oh...hmm. Well that is kind of a bummer.Bahamut is not technically even a pet. It has no health bar and can not be targeted. It's just a graphical effect like any other skill with a big flashy effect. A good comparison would be the frog that appears during that one ninja skill.

I personally don't mind him, but if enough people have an issue I am sure SE will implement something eventually.
TBH I missed the "as a melee" bit too lmao. I'm sure there are some too, but those are "I immediately regret this decision!" moments I think :P
Hell, I don't ACTUALLY want to delete him. I get that summoners have been asking for this for years and I don't want to take that away from them at all. I'm just saying it can be an inconvenience to some of the rest of us. As another person mentioned, I'm also a player that likes to play fully zoomed out so that I can see more of the battlefield. This puts my camera IN bahamut or right behind him. I think a transparency slider in our character config is the way to go here. I don't want to hide it completely, I just don't want it to block my view. A slider would also give people the option to turn it to 100% transparent (not see at all) to 0% transparent (as things are now, which some SMN may want). Once again, I want to reiterate that I don't want SMN changed, I just want an option available client side that allows us to deal with how WE perceive THEM.
Also, enough with the nerf SAM nonsense. Their dps is working exactly as intended. It's kinda like 2.0/3.0 MNK done right. Nerf them and then there'd be 0 reason to bring one because the party utility they bring is their high dps, and nothing else. That's a different topic entirely. :P

SE shouldn't bother making animations at all. All everyone wants to do is turned them off. Should be a melee swing and then damage..
I love playing extremes!
SE should amp up every animation to Bahamut summoning levels. I don't mean that stupid little demi Bahamut. I mean the moon sized one. And the screen should never have anything but shining particle effects everywhere! The challenge comes from guessing where the AoEs are!
In Eorzea, Bahamut delete you.
But really, complaints like these are why we can't have nice things.

I think reducing its size is something of a kick in the pants to people who DID want bigger summons, though. I'm more in favor of an option to either turn them off or increase their transparency myself, rather than just flat-out making it smaller for everyone. I like Bahamut's design.Or reduce it's size to 2/3 of what it is now. That would probably help those that are affected by it.
