Least "edge lord" DK

So, long story short, I dispise DK aethetics from the bottom of my soul. All I can think of is batman from the Lego Movie when I see one.

That said, the playstyle seems neat, focusing on mana management as a tank. I am looking to you guys for inspirational glamours to make a DK that is far more sunshine than somber!

Halone Fending set?

Any of the generic Fending sets will probably be passable, since they're designed to be more as a generic 'heavy armour' for all tanks classes to use.

Claymore of the round and augmented heavy wolfram curaiss dyed pure white, you'll be so shiny you'll be like a paladark knight!

Check out the Balmung from the Primal Focus quest and the Armor of Light from Labyrinth of the Ancients. I wore that on DRK while leveling in HW and it's pretty great.

Unfortunately for me, Balmung makes me think of extreme Edge-ness because of the character Balmung Fezalion.

Halone Fending set?

I use the Halone set. I dyed it Metallic Gold. I feel like a Valkyrie.

I feel your pain - it is the pain all we DRK knights feel and feed off!... and glamour are the real end-game, so having such a limited selection of skins is annoying, but, not game ending.

Personally as a tribal kitty I've always done my best to embrace the theme, like:
Ponchos and tats
Approximation of the M'kitty ranger outfit

There's a lot of possibilities all around

Tron lines and light vests
Noble, un-edgy tankness

The main problem is that generally tank sets released since 2.0 typically have flanchards, pauldrons and spikes. We can't swing 'light' armour looks without going all the way down to pure clothing. The gubal library at least has a neat overcoat on offer, the Aery's tank set is a more tribal variant on things. Then of course there's Shishui's Skanky Tides bikini...

Seconding this. The fending set from the Aery is quality and one of my all-time favorites.

Gambler gear from Gold Saucer dyed a bright color like grape purple or a pastel and armed with the Gold Saucer club weapon in all its gaudy gold and neon glory.
You'll look a tad ridiculous but nobody will accuse you of looking like an "Edge Lord".

Another option is to go ironically self-referential and wear something like the ghost costume or one of the other All Saints costumes but pretend to be super dark and serious about it.

Honestly wear whatever you find that looks good to you. The tanks share most gear asides from the job specific ones which there are barely any of in comparison to the shared stuff. You're definitely not locked into the attached theme of the job when designing the look of your character.
