The Xaela/Raen history's gotten murky with SB. The Oronir insist that the two tribes made peace, suggesting that the Raen left of their own accord, while the Sui-no-Sato Raen(who I wish had more development) insist that they were driven from the Steppes. That, the House of the Crooked Coin, and all the ruins from whatever organized civilization the Xaela used to have make me want more out of the zone. Square pls.

The House of the Crooked Coin is used by the Dotharl as a place for ritual suicide. According to them if one wanted to return to the Dusk Mother and break the cycle of reincarnation then that is the sacred place to travel to and then throw oneself against the rocks below to die. It features in the side quest, Nhaama's Sweet Embrace.

I'm aware, but that doesn't explain the purple haze or the glowing runes(that look like some of the crystalwork seen in LotA) on the pillars coming out of it. The ritual suicide component is also born from their belief that there's a crystal at the bottom that contains part of Nhaama's essence.
