The Doman Enclave is also left as a big open end. It's completely ruined, but it has its own map and you can travel to and from it at will. It feels very strange for a place that's only used for one cinematic.
I loved this zone, going there the first time as a Xaela made it even more special. I haven't done any of the sidequests there but i really should.
The azim steppes was actually enough to almost convince me to not want to be an Elezen. The Oronir tribe are amazing!
I actually think they missed a golden opportunity to make a PVP mode themed around the zone and allying with certain tribes.
Steep has to be my favorite. I really enjoy gathering out there. Idk why the zone makes me so happy and calm it just does. Also if Sunbro can get more side story idc what.. i just want more <3
*pst* I want a home painting of sunbro
I've always had a certain interest in Mongolian culture, so seeing it reflected at the steppe was neat, since it's not one of the ones that's particularly common in video games.
As a fun fact, the Naadam is a real thing in Mongolia, though it's a yearly sports festival including wrestling, archery, and horse riding (Free-for-all mortal combat wouldn't really slide in modern times)
One of the Mol also mentions the Tsaagan Har, which is the Mongolian lunar new year's celebration. It's a time for family reunions, repaying debts to one another, and overall promoting a more friendly, communal spirit, which is why he expresses some fear of them being attacked when it's over.
