compared to the original they are brilliant covers, if you remix something to much you lose the touch the orginal had,

IF they were truely lazy they could of used the original OST and left you with the midi file playing in the back ground, so be glad they coverd it :P

You're playing the wrong franchise if you feel that common themes/songs/characters/enemies are a bad thing between games. But you do you, Boo.

I never played FFV, I thought the Alex music was pretty meh, and I don't mind the Delta tracks. I would never go so far to say any of the music in this game is shit tho. thats a whole nother thing :P

I would argue that it isn't really 'blinding' anyone. It's a Final Fantasy game that draws heavily on previous Final Fantasy games, which is already a series that does this a lot, as has been stated. People playing it for nostalgia is kind of a given, when it's one of the primary draws to the game for a lot of people.
