How exactly is that a nerf?

Its a nerf because it was doing physical damage pre update, now its magical and unaffected by their 20% dripping blades passive that increases physical damage only. So in reality it went from 660 potency (550x1.2) down to 600 without the possibility to self buff the potency with that trait. However that doesn't really excuse the fact that they totally neglected to even address healing issues whatsoever.

I'm guessing most of you didn't play sch in the transition from 2.55 to 3.0. The exact same thing happened with fairy scaling. Yes, embrace had a little potency nerf, but the weakness of it right now has more to do with changes in Stat scaling and how op it felt when you were over geared.

Tl;Dr This has all happened before and works itself out with gear.

Yes, there are other issues with sch, but the fairy complaints are all coming from people that don't remember 3.0 or weren't playing.

Oh no, I remember 3.0 quite well. The fairy did indeed get nerfed - that's where the entire concept of pet potencies came from in the first place. We still have that, and the potency got nerfed on top of that. That's not scaling, that's just decreasing the power of the heal.

SCH's problem isn't even specifically that the pet got nerfed again. It's that everything got nerfed. There is not a single thing right now that SCH does better than the two other healers.

I survived until I played a lvl 30 AST, which was more fun than my 70 SCH. Jumped it to 60 and rushed that baby to 70 in mere days lol.

It's really not that bad, least I don't find it to be. I have to use dissipation even more than before for emergency heals, and I wasn't expecting to have to use Lucid Dreaming, but once I adjusted to those two things it's fine.

My only complaint with new scholar is, yeah, AST is just so much better to the point that I don't know what SE was thinking, and how scholar doesn't have an AoE filler spell like the other two healers do.

Thank you I really hope we get fixed as well. Its really disheartening to see the state of Scholars right now. When early access happens me and my boyfriend Leveled our main jobs together. Sch/War. He died multiple times in dungeons and He's used to pulling big. Once we got our classes to 70 He switched to his alt which is a Sch/summoner and he comes to me saying things like "Wow, I dont see how you do it, from now on i'll pull smaller until I know we out gear the content. Scholar healing is so weak my tank died a few times cause my heals weren't doing squat"

Oh no the class is doomed I've been mostly stuck solo healing all the fights because of people dying to mechanics

In all honesty with how easy Omega normal is I wonder exactly how much they can actually get from it.

SCH healing is anything but "weak", there isn't a problem with it's healing in-general. It's more of QoL issues with the job. How lousy dungeon DPS is, Fey Union clunkiness, etc. Nothing that Scholar can't heal.

Just some people out there still think they outgear leveling content, so pulling beyond their gear/level, and/or playing with average-to-low DPS so that combination will absolutely hit a wall. You also hit a certain level just over half-way in the MSQ where you absolutely feel things ramp-up, and having any upgrade to gear at that level and beyond is immensely felt.

I've held back on contributing to any SCH threads for the last 2 weeks; I broke my ankle shortly after hitting 70 and needed an operation (I swear Eos was there for me, though that was possibly just my meds.) Only really played again tonight as i got out of hospital Monday, and I had to psyche myself up to do the last story mode trial as I'd heard it was hard and I've read a lot about SCH issues in healing harder content. I was very glad I had aWHM co-healer that seemed to know the fight & be competent. Also glad I had two FC mates with me to shout instructions as i was Ina panic about dealing with mechanics, managing my foot, and not proving a liability as a healer. Thankfully we cleared on 2nd try. Yeah it was very stressful but I didn't feel like my lack of healing throughput was causing me a problem. Mananging AF stacks is actually quite interesting, I think I've been overly conservative with them in the past & the combination of Excog/Lustrate/Indom are fun to try & plan for. Also way more likely to use Dissipation and not hang on to a swift cast 'just in case'. Feel like I'm very much changing my play style as a SCH & becoming more confident. Not going to deny I'd love Adloq to be buffed a bit or the MP cost lowered as with Succuor. Not sure the faery needs any buffs tho. Also completely forgot about my broken ankle throughout the entire trial (not sure if that's good or bad ...)
