If they don't say anything, the GMs will just chalk it up to playstyle differences most likely. They understandably don't want to get involved in player politics unless it's a blaringly obvious abuse, which kicking someone without saying anything is hard to gauge is definitely abuse, so they prefer to just chalk it up to playstyle difference which IS a valid reason.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

That's absurd..wrongly kicking someone is wrongly kicking even if they want to prefer it to be something else..

They already gave in to let scholars use their pets when sync'd. If people hear that now they think I'm just making stuff up, but there really was a time where you couldn't summon your fairy as a scholar when you were sync'd below level 30. And, since all you had was carbuncle, you couldn't queue as a healer for sub 30 content! For people wondering about how that would work with duty finder and roulettes....well those things weren't always around either.... dark times indeed? And, no this wasn't the game's 1.0 release. Scholars didn't exist then!

So, mostly because no scholar weren't allowed their pets below level 30 sync'd greatly reduces the number of people healing low level content, they gave in, patched it and let you summon your fairy at sub 30 levels when sync'd. But what happened next? Scholars really have it made for that content huh? The running joke is that they can just afk and put the tank on follow. The sad thing is, it works.... It works well....

That said, I'd prefer to just have our abilities if we have to queue for sync'd content and not have them removed. Maybe there is something else that could be done to balance it out?

It wasn't a great spell but it made the difference between a successful clear and a disaster more than once for me. Like the time my FC buddy entered Baelsar's Wall lower than the minimum item level for her very first clear without realising - who knew that was possible? She got one shot by the final boss repeatedly because she was simply too weak to take the hit at full HP. Using Stoneskin let her actually beat the dungeon without lying dead on the floor; otherwise we would have had to leave at the final boss and redo it later or carry her through the climax of the game unnecessarily. Then there are all the lowman minimum item level ARR/HW trials my FC likes to do for fun - WHM is not welcome there as it ruins the attempts. It was never great, but now it's actively impossible to clear some fun, challenging stuff without Stoneskin.

They could fix both problems in one go with a low level, crummy version of DB which gets upgraded to the current version (and preferably, tuned a bit) at the current level. It can have a cast time and be weaker, I don't mind. It's better than having no shielding at all.
