Threads nearly never get closed or deleted.
Anyways, i am not attacking you, just telling you how things look to us.
And i can only repeat myself. If something in an online game traumatized you, PLEASE talk to someone about it.
I know how it looks to you guys, and it upsets me because I don't know any other way to express myself so people will understand. Ugh, drama is already starting and all I was trying to do was explain myself why the suggestions people were giving me weren't a viable option for me... :/
Does anyone know how to contact a mod or admin so I can ask them to delete this thread? Thank you.
You don't have to explain yourself to anybody. Ignore the comments, there's a black list here on the forums, you could use. You could also report your own post if your posting level isn't high enough to delete your own post, under edit and then at the bottom, delete message. You can sadly not delete a whole topic, but my suggestion is, just let it die down. If you don't respond to the topic itself, or ignore people that post stuff, that has nothing to do with your actual message, trying to get you to response and then arguing about the way you responded, this topic will end up at the end of the forum very quickly lol. I wouldn't worry much about all that. You got the answer you were looking for, I hope you will have a easier/better time in game now that this is out of the way.I know how it looks to you guys, and it upsets me because I don't know any other way to express myself so people will understand. I am also saddened that there is still no option to block free company invitations after the game has been launched over three years and a half ago. I very much dislike the "Busy" method as it prevents other features, as well, so it's not much of a solution. There is really no perfect solution...
When I made my third character on the Faerie server, I was receiving free company invites by the same person constantly. I think he was just mass inviting every new player periodically without looking at the names. This is by no means an ideal solution either, but I learned that blacklisting somebody prevents them from sending free company invitations to you. So while it does not prevent random people from inviting you without even a friendly message to you, it can prevent people that spam you with invites once you see an invitation from somebody whose name you recognize from a previous invitation. It's... a little something, I guess.
From a (non-miqo'te) cat to another, I wish you good luck. :3

I'd keep the topic up, may give the devs the nudge to add the option in game. :3 I hope the other method someone else suggested can help you for now.

I must say, this is why I had a dummy FC back on Odin. Like you said, if I wanted an FC, I'd go join one. Blindly inviting me is likely to get me to decline the invite, give me reasons why I should join your FC. Sell it to me. And yes, while /busy is an option, it's what I refer to as a thermonuclear option. It blocks /tells, /readychecks, trades, FC invites, linkshell invites, the full shebang, all to stop a potential unwanted FC invite? I mean, I can't be the only one thinking it's just a band-aid solution? I agree that /busy has its uses, but better control on social interaction would be good.
Let's take RuneScape as an example, you can set it so you can only receive private messages off friends (or go completely invisible so nobody can message you), this also affects your online status to other players in the same fashion. You can do the same with trade requests (so non-friends can't trade you if you don't want that). Clan chat can be done the same way. Offer us more permanent means of limiting certain types of interactions, instead of just forcing us to use the thermonuclear /busy option.
EDIT: And speaking of better controls, why the heck are we still lumbered with a 1000 character limit on trying to make a post but having it lifted when we edit the post? Just what purpose does that achieve?
^I made a dummy FC also for the same reason on Zodiark, blind invites drives me nuts, even random tells... my requirements as to me being the right fit for the FC, or vice versa are pretty high, but that's another whole different rant lol... I found a workaround as someone has already suggested on these forums, blacklisting the people who send blind invites.
That is NOT an excuse. I'm on PS4 and use a USB keyboard for chatting. The only part is we can't copy and paste(unless someone can tell me how without using the controllers "mouse" as it is not very accurate...and not sure if we can select text with it) the hunt information when it is announced, which is a pain sometimes.Id like this as well as a Block LS invite option. Some random transfers to goblin started to mass invite the server into a hunt LS. No tell, no welcome just mass invite. Several people (most likely those who transferred with the guy) were very rude when people were giving tips and advice on not doing that. As the guy gave the excuse "im ps4 and have no keyboard"
I'm in a similar boat though it started here in XIV. The first FC I joined had a bad leader who kicked everyone out after a change was made to how leaders were appointed. He wanted to keep his leadership rank so he outed everyone. That... didn't sit well with me and it just made me avoid guilds in general.
If I die, forgive me. I used to be a Dragoon.
If FC chat bothers you you can always Join one and then turn off the FC chat I can't begin to tell you how much of a piece that brings was in one FC where I just got tired of seeing the same stuff I just turned it off and just like peace has been brought. No headache or mental thing or anything like that it's just nice calm quiet. Not for sure what you mean but making my own FC is not an option. Whatever benefits are in having an FC do not outweigh the cons imo (mainly for personal and mental health reasons). Plus my BFF and I talk to each other in my own personal LS for each other, even though he does play in an FC. :3
