What's the point of Ninja stealth (and trick attack) anymore?

The positional requirement on Trick Attack's debuff still bugs me with how prone bosses/hunts are to spinning/turning in SB,

Granted, we have True North and all, but that's only usable every three minutes.

They could always just remove positionals all together from the game which is what I thought they would do but they decided to keep it in the game for some odd reason.
