The very concept of a competitive match requires tiered rewards. As it was, experience was not tiered. Winners and losers received the same experience. That allowed abuse. Not simply the random AFK'er. But people ignoring mechanics and facerolling their keyboards to easy experience.

If people want big experience, now they have to pay attention to mechanics. Try to work as a team. If they fail, they get less. And that's perfectly fair.

As it pertains to the claim about potential cheating: that's a whole lot of effort for gains that could be had for less effort without cheating.
