    MCH Levels 52-62

    This isnt a DPS discussion. There are plenty o threads for that already.

    My question is with the new heat mechanic attatched to the GB at 52, why do MCHs have to endure 10 levels with no way to reduce heat (aside from Quick Reload) prior to Cooldown at 62? What am I missing here?

    Btw I love the class, have mained and will continue to.

    I don't have a good answer. The devs overlook a LOT of retroactive content and low level issues. For example MCH's attack potencies are relatively low to compensate for the fact they have turrets which pump out a constant stream of damage too, but when you get pushed back into content below level 40, you lose your turrets and your damage becomes even more abyssmal. This is true for a lot of post-ARR classes, where they don't properly account for the order in which skills are obtained and when.

    Compare and contrast to RDM and SAM which get front-loaded with a lot of heavy hitters that make it very very difficult for tanks to hold threat against them in low level content (Because again, many tanks don't get their tank stances til somewhat later)

    What Ryuujin said. The new mechanics were created with the idea that the players are already level 60, so the idea of having to spend 10 levels with minimal heat reduction is not important.

    Similarly, the heated shots don't become available until later either, and they force you to reconsider your entire rotation once again.

    you're not missing much. It's why I stay away from 50/60 like a plague. I don't want to deal with conflagrating but it's the only way to get more damage since they took my more grenado shot and dot away. May they rest in pieces

    While you can't do much to reduce heat in combat, I haven't actually found that to be a real big problem. Outside of combat just unequip your Gauss Barrel and put it back on while running between groups, and that will reset your Heat to 0.

    I would say my issue is just how much the job changes by how much unlocks later on. I don't know if I had a real feel of what a 70 MCH felt like until 64 when heat is really relevant. Not having heated shots made heat feel like ok it is there...so? The only job I've played up to this level is SAM and even they feel like they ease into Kenki and other skills much better than MCH does right now. I don't mind not having ways to really reduce heat but not having anything to really do with heat or really gain it is probably a worse experience than not being able to reduce it.

    1 of the many ongoing issues with mch atm. I mean if your brave enough to stay with mch it becomes a anwesome flashy job but don't expect to be in raids currently as they are pretty much useless and would rather have a sword oathing pld over a mch.

    That's a bit of a hyperbole. We at least perform better than sword oath PLDs. It's just our ranged dps/ support slot 100% isn't going to prefer a MCH

    I dont login to raid so thats no skin off my ass. I will continue to be flashy in casual content and love it.

    One workaround could be to have Heated shots tied into Gauss Barrel at 52, and/or for overheating to be less of a severe punishment, but that probably won't happen.
