Can we all please remember that we play a subscription-based MMO?? Something as basic as access to housing should not be up on a cash shop! I can't believe this suggestion is being seriously considered by some folk in this thread.

I am no longer surprised at all by what is not only added to the cash shop but what is bought, suggested and sometimes even outright BEGGED for to be added to the shop. I cry a little inside when people make posts asking for something to be added to the cash shop rather than it simply being added to be obtainable someway in game.

Or they could implement the housing option that ESO has: Buy a house from the item cash shop and it yours.

Since I don't sell much stuff in the game or do DoL/DoH stuff, I would totally be down to buy a guaranteed house this way.

First they need to separate FC housing and personal housing.
BDO, Wildstar or TESO offer solutions. SE just got the wrong idea.

Because their initial idea was just rubbish and now they can't change anything.
I wonder why they came up with such an idea since their previous MMO FFXI had instanced housing and no problems like that. And with a little thinking you should have guessed that it would come up with a lot of problems.

Short answer: Server Space.
Long answer: SE doesn't want to admit they may have screwed up on housing and now its too late to fix the problem, so they keep adding more wards and areas hoping it will balance out but people still buy multiple.

Goblin server has housing left plus there are apartments now. Move to a smaller server, you will get a house. Stop blaming SE for something your server created themselves. The more wards they add, the emptier smaller servers feel.

I started out on Malboro, which isn't exactly a big server. There were only two plots left in any of the housing areas by the end of ARR when I started making gil and getting interested in buying one. They were gone early in HW. Yeah, sure, there are a few servers so small that housing isn't an issue, but the housing shortage, while especially bad on Balmung, is hardly unique to Balmung. It doesn't take a mega server to run the housing supply dry.

you know how you can go to the sky pirate base for the void ark quest line? that made me think why not allow us to get houses on islands which can effectively work as instanced housing for those who don't care for living in wards shared with other players.
