Im sure the majority of people are fine, but the forums are making Mateus natives sound like that crazy old man shouting at kids to stay off their lawn.

There is actually a Mateus native like that, hell, they were originally from Gilgamesh before moving to Mateus to play "The Sims: FFXIV Edition".

♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
The FFXIV community loves their drama! More drama in this community than on daytime soap operas.
Wasn't Mateus the one selected to be the RP sub server by Balmungers?
At least on Tumblr I noticed that there is a massive amount of players moving to Mateus to retain the community but still free themselves from the over loaded server.
Fun fact, the game recommended my alt to Mateus, which was my plan anyways with an alt.
That means the system said your server was D-E-A-D Dead.
This thread is depressing, if only because I'm watching people apply NIMBY-ism to a freaking MMORPG. :/
Omega is at risk of becoming congested, yet it still recommended that to me for my alt over Louisoix, Zodiark, or Lich, which have a much lower population.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
Well I didn't mean it was dead NOW. Just that if it recommended it to new characters, it was probably that much in need. Square just hasn't removed it from recommended yet.
This is correct. Omega, too, was similarly chosen to become the European version of Balmung.
"Fairly" is a huge stretch, they're taking advantage of a pretty big loophole that only now is being noticed cause it was a dead server before, I wouldn't be surprised if SE does something
