    Regarding Panned Simultaneous Logout Measures

There's no feedback section for the actual game so I'm just going to post this here, as it's going to become a technical support issue anyway.

The planned logout measures are ridiculous for a number of reasons.
1: You're using a sledgehammer where you should be using a scalpel, why kick everyone out when you could just implement the AFK timer even when in cutscenes or crafting and AFK.
2: You're going to have an entire server smashing into your lobby servers at once, trying to log back in, 10 minutes after you kick everyone out.
3: You're releasing a raid soon, how is this going to effect people trying to progress, or people trying to farm in cross party groups?
4: We pay you for the use of your servers, loss of usage for maintenance is a necessary evil, loss of usage because you refuse to provide adequate capacity is not.

It's been the same thing with each and every launch, stuff breaks because capacity doesn't meet demand, you coast along with hot-fixes and apologies, never addressing the actual issue of server capacity, and eventually demand dies off naturally, only for the cycle to repeat next time a major patch or launch occurs. This can't continue, if you want the game to continue to grow you need to invest in adequate infrastructure even if just during your launch windows.

AFK timer does not work with bots, which i think this is mostly addressing.

Bots can log themselves back in too. Doesn't solve that problem.

This really is a slapdash kludge of a solution to this problem. Fixing their AFK timer so that it works properly would be a far superior solution.

They are just acting against the consequences of their poor servers management. Not the cause.

What's the point of doing 3 videos about how you fucked up 1.0 and how you improved yourselves, when you let us down at every launch. Every launch.
We're in 2017, solutions are here.

With proper servers, players would never stay AFK more than a bio-break.

No. Even on the smaller servers with no log in issues have these 24/7 AFKers and its just unnecessary.

It's launch of a big expansion. While their servers arent ideally managed which I tend to blame on when they finally decided to move....which is way too close to launch...I have not been let down.

Then again, Lamia is and always has been a smaller server. I never have an issue.

As for the sledgehammer, its like the banhammer. It makes everyone pay attention and hopefully makes everyone be less of an AFKer. And if it doesnt? More hammers will come. simple as that.

I agree completely, in an ideal world the AFK kick would work perfectly, but accurately detecting if someone is idle is also pretty much impossible. Whatever method(s) they use, the people who work around it now, but will continue to do what they can to bypass it. Whether it's rubber bands on controllers, AutoHotKey scripts randomly "pressing" keys... or even once I heard about someone using a modified drinking bird to get past AFK kicks in something else...

Because SE isn't physically in the room with each of us, they can't really tell if we're idle or not. Crazy as it sounds someone could conceivably place a controller on the floor amongst a load of cat toys and a cat would randomly make movements as it ran past/knocked the controller (until the cat got bored anyway...)

    Angry As Expected

A lot of us saw this coming but it seems SE didn't. There are people waiting in ques for 2-3 hours, finally getting in only to get booted in 20 minutes or so just to get stuck in a line again.

I get that you need to fix an issue but this is so brute force its almost insulting.

I am sure the servers can monitor whos been online for a set amount of time. So why not brute force eject only people that have been online for a set time. So if someone has been in for 4 hours or 6 whatever works, then they get ejected at least then its a cycle and prevents people getting logged out after waiting in a que fairly.

Or if its possible that everyone genuine has to complete a duty ever few hours to stop people being on while at work or asleep.

But doing this was the worst possible answer. Theres also reports that people arnt getting the logout notification and getting booted during dungeons and pvp etc.

Terrible "solution". Instead of upgrade servers so they can handle more load or FINALLY start banning bots and gilsellers (its so incredibly easy to find them in database with their stupid names and names of their Free companies), they punish everyone with this.

I logged in about 30 minutes before today's logouts on Odin, luckily an FC member told me they were about to log people out so I didn't queue for an instance.

So 30 minutes wasted unable to queue for anything.
Another 10 minutes wasted kicked off the servers.
And 10 minutes wasted queuing to get back in.

Thanks square, there goes almost an hour of my time.
