If they do it just buy it up and resell it for a higher price.
I'm going to chime in on how bad this is on Balmung. I was looking to sell a second copy of the music roll from t12 (first was used by me; cost ~200k; 2nd about that to make). Nobody had a roll up when I posted it so I set @ 1.5 mil so I could have a bit of profit. My small profit was 600k. Break even is about 400k. It's been at least a month and I took it off as the undercutters kept undercutting and my undercut was not enough to get it sold. Now the lowest price is in the 300k range. I'm keeping the music off until I can minimum break even. This is why I don't do much crafting. The reason severe undercutting isn't against the rules is how do you define severe undercutting because to one, severe may be undercutting to below 20,000 gil and another severe is 10k?

The market board is the purest form of PVP.

You just came across someone salty you sold your item ahead of theirs. I've heard from a few friends on smaller to mid pop servers, people get more directly aggressive about undercutting. Regardless, you just tell the person to bugger off and keep going about your business. There is no rules against undercutting.

No? /10cha

Since when has the market board and item prices ever been a thing that could keep someone from playing content? Of course it's not a violation, nor should it ever be.
I don't mean to be rude but I can't believe you made a formal complaint to SE regarding someone undercutting other and yourself.
How on EARTH does that violates the terms of condition? Have you gone mad?
What the Market Board needs, is in use in Final Fantasy XI, an Auction house. You can't see how much the item you want to buy is listed for, you can only see the history of the last ten sales to gauge what the general public are happy to pay.
This system worked great, because to buy anything, you had to BID what you feel comfortable paying, this means you have to keep typing in numbers, usually by going on the sales history.
Now, we see retainer names, players posting 10 to 100 of an item to scare off other sellers, sale wars, massive undercutting on a huge scale, selling finished products sometime 50 to 90% less than the material cost to make said finished product, its a flawed system controlled by well-off players that can easily afford to loose Gil just to make a sale. And really, isn't the worst issue the fact it costs 3M to buy a small house, yet to buy that new decoration its 20M on the market board...
