    My only 2 cents to add to this thread is that I've mained PLD since I started playing in ARR. I love the sword and board style of play in almost every MMO I've tried and I rode the bench often enough over the last few years while the dps tanks were preferred to my favorite class.

    For SB, I am going to enjoy my moment in the sun for as long as it lasts. If and when it ends, I'll probably still be maining PLD until I leave FF14 for good.

    Even if you level a role, the devs can see what jobs are entering instances the most and the raw numbers.

    I don't have any issue at all with the DPS output loss on tanks and healers as we have two/four DPS focused players in all instances. If DPS is too low, they need to step up and use their larger tool kit.

    But, yeah, I like Paladin more now than I did in HW... So, I may be on the wrong side of the argument. I'm actually considering getting that jump item for Warrior.

    I for one am glad Paladin is actually good now. as for the other tanking classes I don't play them much but if they really are that bad now then they need some buffing.

    Well, you're one hell of a lucky DPS player then. Literally spent 55 minutes last night during peak time to get into Kugane Castle. I know a big part of the playerbase is not at 70 yet and all that, but still, for someone who doesn't craft/gather it was way too brutal.

    I signed up to tank since 2.0 I love to lead the charge and I love to face my enemy head on and protect my friends

    Such is the role I took and signed up for

    As for dps.....that's just a side role for me but I do however try to dish out as much as humanly possible but dps has not been my main point of been a tank if our dps drop then the dps of DPS surely the developer has adjusted so that our drop in dps we will still meet the dps check so overall any changes to tank damage does not matter

    Tanks are in a rough spot it's to the point as a healer where I'm nervous with WARs because those mobs go everywhere lol and some WARs still think it's HW and hey can pull big mobs which usually ends up with the dps dead...

    but overall the dmg received is definitely a little off kilter when I try to dps as a healer even with two mobs the tank is being shredded idk what you guys did to these tanks but please fix it...

    It's because we are back to the darklight age of 2.0 where everyone is wearing i70 in 2.0

    It will get better over time so hang in there!

    If not you are wondering why tank take so much damage on level 61~69 dungeon then it because it's level synd and it'd natural that they take so much damage because most of their gear is outdated the amount of armor def from armor is a huge spike increase from i270 to i279 a huge 1000+ def increase from a set

    The problem I'm seeing with the majority of people complaining about the tank changes is not just about the DPS. Yeah the DPS loss sucks (I liked dishing out damage as DRK - Still think it should've been a DPS job like it has always been in FFs), but the fact that what made WAR/DRK entertaining for them has been gutted. Can't say for WAR, but as a DRK having my MP management overly simplified, losing my DoT management, and losing the Delirium Combo (yeah it's a one button difference, but the fact that I no longer have to worry about keeping that debuff on some fights is what I miss) in exchange for ONE interesting skill (Blackest Night) is what makes me complain about the changes. It's just not entertaining to me anymore. The problem is: Some people don't get that when you say it, and instantly think you're whining because "Hurr Muh DPS Loss". NO. It's the over simplification of the job that bores me, and a bunch of others now. But apparently they are planning on creating some new sort of challenge with the enmity generation, so I'll be spamming my ONE enmity combo more often. ^u^

    Yeah so many people use that argument of "well you're a tank you don't need to do DPS" and I feel like it's such a strawman argument because that's not the core of the issue. The core of the issue is that as it is in this game, holding aggro and mitigating is not very fun. Players have fun optimizing, and the only other way to do that is DPS. What I'm upset about WAR is the loss of Bloodbath and CDs giving stacks because WAR did something different than the other two tank jobs. It combined offensive tools with defensive tools to augment the effectiveness of both. For example, Bloodbath synergized well with Vengeance, so you'd get the -30% damage reduction from Vengeance, but Vengeance would heal you for like 1.5k HP with a large pull due to it dealing damage and the effect from Bloodbath.

    It's likely the str/vit issue will be addressed in the coming patches. Weirdness and settling is part and parcel of the expansion experience. Class imbalance has always been part of new expansion releases. At the end of the day you are still able to do what you are intended to do (hold enmity) and the extra stuff will settle out in time.
    If the DPS queues grew to a soft hour+ because noone is playing tanks/heals, you're damn right they'd buff the shit out of tanks/heals. Even if they didn't need it. Square NEEDS people playing those roles for the vast majority of the combat in their MMORPG to function. If the ratios were THAT OFF, they'd take action.

    This appears to be a recurring theme with a 'lot' of Stormblood classes. Feeling REALLY out of place until they get one key ability halfway to or at level 70. Bizarre decision.
