Addressing the current Problems with the Dungeonfinder / Ex roulettes and Playerroles

I know i might get a lot of hate for this, but its better to Adress problems sooner than later. Currently we have to wait up to 80 minutes for a Ex roulette or Ex dungeon as a DPS wich is unbearable with already having to wait hours to be even able to log into the game. What happend? Well: A lot of Tanks, myself included, are extremely unhappy how WAR'S and DRK's turned out with SB. I picked PLD cause it seemed the only good Option after i read all those nerfs on the others.

I brought it up to 70, ran a lot of roulettes with it / killed Lakshmi EX and im just bored to Death, so i tried Samurai wich i fell in love with instantly. Its not only me here. Almost every Tank i have in my Friendslist now plays a DPS job and is probably gonna stay with it.

Yoshi said that with HW people mostly stayed with theyr old roles and they expect people to behave the same Way with SB. It came out totally different. The jobs introduced with HW were very underpowered and 20 Levels away from the new Content including NO Palace of the Dead to catch up fast.
The new SB jobs were only 10 levels Away and were HIGHLY requested with POTD as a fast catch up option.

What we need very soon: Fixes to the Tanks, Give Warriors flash back so they have less trouble with pulling large groups of mobs, remove the Job gauge killing while switching stance so it doesnt feel we dont have anything to do, just things like that (wich is ofc WAY not all that needs to be changed). Maybe.. MAYBE reconsider Samurai being a DPS. A ton of people prayed its going to be a Tank. Ofc there is a small percantage that likes the changes but it really is the case that most Tanks or now former Tanks are not happy with it.

Just to make it clear: this is not a flamethread or whatever people may call it, i just wanted to point out some (clearly not all) of the problems.

It will even out with time. If not, make friends. As a healer, I always invite my FC members before I queue.

They are not gonna reconsider the role for an entire job. Not only would that be a waste of time, a lot of the people who play samurai for the dps aspect (myself included) will be...less than happy. If there are problems with tank jobs that veteran tanks are seeing, then SE needs to fix those. If people wanna jump ship to dps jobs because tanks suck, then that's that. People's minds change like the seasons, so those who switched now, most will probably switch again if satisfactory changes are made.

If anything, we can be sure that Yoshi-P will take a look into the job balance. But it's hard to expect the team to react to that, based on a few days of expansion.
We may see some job adjustments with Omega raid introduction, surely with 4.1.

There's a bigger problem here, lots of White Mages are going to be demanded to be called Super Kami Healer with the amount of power they have in queues now!

Meanwhile there are tanks like me who are coming back to FFXIV because we finally had enough of World of Warcraft or some other MMO and even 12 years of toons can't keep us over there if the content still has plots and zones and battles that don't engage us because they still feel like 2005.

Hey if Wildstar had done well none of you would ever see me again. But this game still has better plot than that game, and tanking here is "almost" as fun.

I am in that rare camp that thinks 4.0 warrior is MORE fun than it was in 2.x and 3.x
I suspect in time I won't be alone, but right now there are two new shinies, and people are playing with them. Dedicated tanks will be back. DPS that only tanked because they could stance swap to DPS won't.

I have been a dedicated tank since 2005. I left here before because there were too many tanks and I couldn't find a static group. If people want a tank, get me before my FC does. They're kinda clique-ish so I need to get them to take me over having a "buddy" L2P in a raid...

That's exactly what I'm doing, honestly.

I'm leveling Warrior a bit on the side for the sake of friends, but you won't catch me dead in Duty Finder as anything but a DPS.

I think everyone should just play AST, it is fun and queue as a healer is still good

duty finder has spoiled us lets not forget the dark ages of MMO's when you had to actually go out and find a group which usually ment you spend half the day spamming the cities hoping someone would invite you as a dps

nowadays we just que up in the duty finder and be on our merry way while the game takes care the hard part for us

and theres nothing square can do about the duty finder times, they cant force people to tank or heal
