People like to "say" a lot of things. Are these things fact? Perhaps. But that does not mean it works for everyone.I have infact fought ifrit more than once, and yes it requires timing and what have you. But explain to me why I heard that was how everyone was beating Ifrit so easily with the method I just explained if that isn't even possible in the first place? Why would I even be bringing it up if I knew there was more to it than that?

The typical i-heard-it-from-someone-so-it-must-be-true. Have u tried it yourself that wristflicking works? probably not, so stop spouting nonsense and claim everyone here beats ifrit with that method.I have infact fought ifrit more than once, and yes it requires timing and what have you. But explain to me why I heard that was how everyone was beating Ifrit so easily with the method I just explained if that isn't even possible in the first place? I completely disagree with the OP.
Maybe my opinion doesn't matter because my rank is not high enough for the Ifrit fight yet, but I think a game should always have something really challenging in it.
The Ifrit fight IS challenging, especially if you do it with some class combination that doesn't revolve around 6 lancers.
But while it is challenging, it's not so hard it would be only for hardcore gamers.
You noticed how many parties killed Ifrit already?
The fight is NOT exclusive to hardcore gamers, it's just right for the main part of the community to be not too easy, so it becomes satisfing to beat him, but still manageable for a normal party if they try hard enough.
If you are going to become a game designer, especially with a big community like in MMOs, learn to cater to people's needs.
I seriously hope they start flooding new content so people will have more to discuss about than 1 boss fight.
Also hc player != good player != hc player.

because that's what people with a really low skill level say to justify why they keep losing. It's not us! SE made the fight impossible without wrist flick!I have infact fought ifrit more than once, and yes it requires timing and what have you. By the OP reasoning, the Absolute Virtue fight should have started World War III.
One day we shall look at this thread and laugh at it.

I do not agree with the OP. Granted, this Ifrit fight is aggravating and difficult. I have been participating in a group made up of ls-mates every weekend trying to down Ifrit. We have made notable progress every time we do so (we are past Hellfire and are managing to stay alive a bit afterwards) - it requires hours of practice and the need for every person involved to know their class and hold themselves accountable when they fek up. The ls I am in is considered midcore - not hardcore or softcore - yet we are making progress. Sure, I think Ifrit is a d**k but I do not ever want to see him dumbed down to the point everyone, at this time, can do him. I am not interested in that and I have a feeling quite a few others would agree.
I would agree, however, the server lag and all things associated with it does not help in this fight at all. You think you are out of the plumes or eruptions and end up finding out otherwise. That part is irritating and something I hope can be cured sooner rather than later. That is my only complaint about this encounter.
You are not required to do Ifrit. Since you are not required to do him, this thread you have started is moot and a waste of time. You do not need to do Ifrit to progress anywhere in the game - at least for the moment. The resentment that you hold, and the few others that might agree with you, is your own doing. Hold yourself accountable. If this fight is making you angry then it is time to step away and do something else for awhile.
