Run up to him and continue attack after he just landed < NO NO NO!
What's wrong with this? Does his threat reset after each jump? Or is this about Sear?

DD stacking on top of each other
    What's wrong with stacking?

I've yet to stumble upon a wiki that actually has fight strategies, or up-to-date, useful information at all. It sucks when you're exploring or some shit, and the only way you can figure out how the aggressive mob that can one-shot you on a chocobo is triggered is via a leap of faith by running behind them and hoping they're not sound-triggered (btw, hippogryphs are totally sound-triggered).

Lnc and archer have an advantage by being about to be out of seer range.

After it lands following a jump it 100% of the time does another Non-jp attack. Usally Plums or Eruption. Eruption will kill you if you go to attack it or start spamming cures and it targets you. So after a jump you never never want to do anything until you see what ifrit is going to do. Doing other wise will result in you getting more or less 1 shotted.

Putting all DDs or Mages together is because of the human error factor. If mages have to emergency cure the rank and they are targeted by Eruption, if they are together they are all dead. All your mages dead = extremly high chance of wipe. Same with DDS all your dds die you screw yourself because it will wipe the mages mp dry. Also separating everyone makes ifrit only target 1 area, leaving the other areas free to dmg/cure. So putting everyone in 1 place is a bad thing.

That's just common sense, though. Just run up and white-swing him until he does something.

What do you mean only targets one area? When he lights up, he starts throwing out 3 eruptions. You saying that they'll all follow the same person or something?

I'd like an answer to this. As far as I can tell, most of them tend to be random.
