    Wow i hope you are not a casual players because geez u just made people thinks that every casual players are indeed bunch of bad players without attention, doesn't want to work for their victory, and wants everything to be handed on silver platter for them.

    The only point i agree with is animation locks, a serious issue they already admitted are being worked on.

    The battles require a lot of "high spec", both technical, gear-wise, and class-wise.
    Yes, let's create a fight that doesn't requires to get a better gear and probably can win with pumpkin heads (oh btw people have done this fight with pumpkin heads too), actually this fight is probably manageable with naked members except the tank.


    The fact that some party configurations, like 6x Lancers, 2x Con/Thm, have a higher chance of success than other configurations, is simply repeating the Dzemael Mistake. (Whoring of the Archer class, anyone?)
    That's community issue, everyone will go for the least resistance path, this isn't SE's fault.

    I respect Yoshi-P for wanting to bring back the challenging factors of the olden-days of MMOs, but this is the wrong way to do it with the new generation of MMOs. I don't like it when I waste an hour of my time dying to Ifrit every time because of lag, animation lock, etc.
    Please, enlighten us with your correct way for the new generation of MMOs.




    People have done this fight? why can't you? Oh yeah maybe i know why, instead of working on a proper strat and watch bunch of diff vids from other people, i'd rather freaking whine on this forum instead and hope they nerf it so i can finally rock my shiny polearm with no need of working towards better gears and materias TEEHEE ^_________^

    No, that is the wrong way of the new-generation MMOs, I'd subscribe to an MMO that gives me an easy access to my shiny lewtz, I'll play for a week because i already got everything then stop til next patch but i'll keep paying anyway!

    Apparently content should be super easy where anyone with any gear (Or none! Why not?) can go in any group and win without bringing stress to the tank or healer. God forbid they have a breakdown because the tanks HP got too low.

    Oh, while we're at it, lets make all the drops look like average crap, because I get jealous when I see someone with pretty items.

    What I'm trying to say is that I would like reasonable game design principles to be applied here, not "Let's make it incredibly difficult for lesser-skilled players to complete!"

    I do not approve of elitism.


    I have a reasonable party, and they have done well in other content. It's just puzzling to see that we, all of us at rank 50 with our main classes, simply cannot seem to get Ifrit past 50%, and even by then one of us has been knocked out at least once.

    And yes, we have been using the strategies offered by linkshells such as BlueGartr, and have viewed the videos, etc. We're being screwed over by technical and human limitations.

    You are the same person who was crying about ifrit like a week ago.

    1. I haven't died to ifrit in the last 15 kills, just pay attention and don't be stupid.
    2. No, ifrit is not hard, my LS can kill it with just swimsuits and a weapon. You don't need gear, materia or new powerful abilities.
    3. I can wear just my swimsuit and a weapon and be fine, as stated in 2.
    4. Any jobs can do it, some are just easier. Take a week and level the fotm job or just level everything.
    5. Again, ifrit is not hard, it's a bore now and everyone in my ls is tired of it.

    Don't worry, in a few weeks it should be nerfed and you can do it then!

    While the animation locks and lag are a pain in the ass, the rest of the QQ is nonsense. Just because his group of bad players can't beat something doesn't mean it's automatically bad design.

    Just because a fight is challenging doesn't make the people who win it Elitist. Also, all MMOs, in some way, shape, or form, are competitive, and that's what we have here.

    It's currently endgame content. Meaning you have to have a certain amount of skill from everything you've learned up to that point, in order to succeed. I think making content that anyone can beat with a throw together group and no strategy is poor game design.

    Lesser skilled players should NOT be able to complete these things. Why? Because they are lesser skilled. That isn't elitism, that's logic.

    When something cannot be handled even by a group of semi-hardcore players, it's bad design. From my perspective, the majority of thread responses have been from people who are much more quicker with their reflexes in these kinds of fights - as well as hardcore players.

    What I don't like is the fact that people can't seem to empathize with the problem. If you're going to say such blatant things without actually trying to look at it from my perspective, your skills at debate and discussion are fairly poor.

    Now, the point, like I said, is that MMORPGs are supposed to be like "theme parks", like what Yoshi-P said. If it's supposed to be a themepark, is it supposed to upset and anger me this much? Is it? I think a reasonable answer would be "No". Hence why I say it's bad design to have something around this long and even people like me still haven't been able to beat it.

    And NO, I have no interest in joining a hardcore/endgame linkshell because quite frankly, Jesus Christ on a Pogostick, I do NOT like the atmosphere.
