It's not a problem for me but in general it should be pretty obvious why it's not, right? Housing, friends in fc and linkshells, especially for people who like a server like Balmung...the social aspect is a big part of the game if not the whole reason for playing for some, and for those that like RP there's only so much cross-server pf can do.
I blame both SE and Players.
SE Side: They allowed the Loophole of allowing people to transfer into an already bursting server for way too long.
Making it unfair for those who wanted to get in normally, causing a near permanent lock down for years.
Players Side: Most have had to of known this as you couldn't create a character in Balmung since near launch of ARR
and yet, still decided to move to an unhealthy highly populated server then cry tears when the Q's are outrageous.
What did you expect? They even told you the place was full when you try to create.
I know a lot of players moving, and considered so in the long run, as Balmung is now on complete, permanent lock down until it stabilizes in people
from what I've read/heard because friends cannot join or return to said server.
My suggestion to people that feel like moving but scared to leave friends: Just go to a server in the same DC or chat it out.
I know my FC members and stuff are doing that so they can still play together.
This crap should of been done so long ago though. I'm not sure why SE allowed transfers like that.
But as always, the Q times will go to a norm and no one will care again until next Expac. It's the same damn song as before.
This time, it's worse because the all-time wanted Jobs of SAM/RDM are finally out, easily one of the most highly anticipated Jobs people wanted for years
and the fact that no one expected Rauhbahn and Pipin EX were to be so early on in the game lol.

Is it white-knighting to say "Deal with the consequences of your choices"? Because I chose a server knowing full well what the ramifications of high and low population are.
I sympathize with everyone who has shitty queue's. I do. But I also realize that it's a function of picking a high pop server, a decision that you have to opt into.
It's like back in my WoW days: people would complain about getting ganked on a PvP server. No amount of pointing out that fact would get people to admit that maybe they were a little bit at fault.

I didn't opt into jack-shit. I made my character when it was Besaid. I opted not to spend $30 to move to a low pop server and I haven't been able to log in at all today, infact I've been sitting in the queue for 2 hours now and it's still >3000

Honestly, another real issue here is that SE somehow hasn't properly implemented auto-logout. If you AFK while crafting, the system STILL won't kick you - I've seen tons of people idling on crafters during peak hours the last few days. You can also do it while talking to a retainer or still auto-running. They need to fix this and keep it implemented.
Transferring is still an option for people on High Population Worlds. I don't care if you've been there from day one or not, you still make the conscious choice to remain on an overcrowded server KNOWING it is overcrowded. Yes - there are things SE could do that would make things easier on the playerbase, but they've already done a LOT to keep the servers up for the last five days. They managed to fix several major issues without having to take the servers offline for more than a few minutes.
See, I naturally made a character on Balmung before it was overly crowded. And now I can't even get off the server because of the queue. Game 90k'd me in a duty, now I can't even get back into the server to move out to transfer off to Mateus. Always a 4k queue now, and every time I get down to 1k, the damn game crashes. So I'm just forever stuck in a realm of not being able to play, period. You better believe this is some bull.

"Transferring is the solution!!!"
What a stupid thing to say. Think about what that actually means.
1) Leaving your friends.
2) Leaving your FC.
3) Losing your gil.
4) Unable to transfer back to your home server because it's now locked.
The real solution is to kick the people who are talking to NPCs or crafting to avoid the AFK-Kick. People are going to sleep with their game running because the system wont kick them if they're talking to an NPC, crafting or Using the aesthetician.
